every year some crazy mf lands something new and progresses the sport even farther, but how far can this actually go until there is not much left to do? Yes Matej will probably land quint soon because hes on a strict diet of redbull and bull testosterone but is this going to push skiing even closer to all flips no steeze?
DeebieSkeebiesThe future spins will progress the human race so far that we will time travel into the future where Vail owns everything including grocery stores
Mf's will be so good they can 990 off a rail thats a foot off the ground but not be able to do a nose/tail slide. And I don't mean land in a ski slide and shift over, I have literally never seen anybody in the history of skiing do a proper nose/tail slide where they land in it.
My point is, theres lots more tricks to be done. Ferdi just did an nbd grab on a jump last week. Progression isnt always adding a 180 to a trick
There is the old vid of Eric pollard doing a legit nose grind up a rainbow rail. Like stays on the same area of the nose the whole thing.
But that is old stuff. He was way ahead.

Skiing is pretty limitless. We have already peaked in terms of going the biggest as possibly can all the time. There will always be new tricks, new ways of doing things, new trends and styles etc.
In terms of gear, every aspect of gear will become more and more customizable(size, color, shape) and more comfortable. Newer tech will improve safety. This may be peak skiing for tricks. But we are far from the peak of gear performance.

This is a great point, good to point out the absurdity of things that aren't even spins that haven't been done before...
However, I do think that has been done before. Hugo Burvall did it in this vid, and it was also crazy that it was an up rail, but I think doing it on an up rail also made it so you could emphasize it more ...1:38 in this Edjoy vid...

Post a clip of him landing in a nose or tail slide and I will admit im wrong. I see lots of slides where dudes land underfoot first but that doesnt count.

One I could think of, lands on his back bindings in a press body position. I know there’s more in full his edit parts but I gotta study for an exam rn lol

You are acting like Matej skis like an Nick Gapper. Matej actually has style. I know he does crazy spins and tricks but you can not tell me that matej doesnt have him own super sick style.

when did I say Matej had no style? What I'm saying is once he lands something new more people replicate it and more youngins think their only way to get good is hucking and learning dubs and trips. Your acting like I'm comparing Matej to Andre Sphagetti. Like so many other have said in this thread, people need to be more creative. Like what Mr. Kush said, where the fuck is my triple while ripping a bong?

I think the whole new integration of in air pretzels is making skiing very enjoyable to watch. It also takes away how many spins you are doing. Yeah they might not look the best sometimes but I think they can be sick.
Has anyone actually skied on lava? Like hit a patch with some speed and used their edges to turn when the rock turns softer like snow? If it was brief and fast it might be possible?!?!
