iFlipYou're actually right about this. BASE, and specifically wingsuit BASE, has gotten truly insane. The stuff they do is incredible. I'm sure the adrenaline surge on a proximity flight is unlike anything else. Unfortunately the margins are razor thin and this video, and many others, are dedicated to someone who got just a bit too close. I was very interested in getting into this, then decided I enjoy being alive too much.
.bozHow many sports do you know that induce that sort of effect? I think there's just one.
iFlipYou may be correct. The line between success/awesomeness and death at the higher levels is razor thin. They're moving so fast and reacting and adjusting so rapidly that the sensations must be unbelievable. I was going to say that freesolo climbing or high-end ice climbing may be similar but no, I don't think they are. When soloing the only time adrenaline spikes is if you mess up, so the goal is of course no adrenaline. High-end ice climbing (on lead) at least for me brings about some adrenaline but that's likely because I'm not all that great of an ice climber in reality.
Proximity wingsuit BASE may actually be the ultimate adrenaline sport. Anyone else have any contenders?
