How much is your local ski shop charging for a mount?

I haven't bought a mount in years- dropped by a local shop in Portland, Maine and they're charging $75 for just the drill.

Curious how prices are elsewhere in the States.

I’m in one of most competitive cities in USA for ski gear. I still can’t wrap my head around $35 especially at WHISTLER and in CAD. Is there a secret idk about? Lol
The guys are always cool so I’m totally going to mention this next time to see if it works 😂

anders_axxl sold me a look 14 binding for $1 in bargain bin, and dude was like.. and you get a free mount with that! I was like.. hmm I can mount my own shit, but free and $1 sure lets doit

front & rear heelpiece was different lengths apart on each ski..... so different forward pressure needed, and 4-5mm off the marks

so yeah even free isnt worth it, binding was lol deal though, and I sold that ski with a $300 profit

I've just bought a new pair of M5 Mantra and they arrived with one of the bindings noticeably off center. My gut feeling is I'm spending a lot of money on a setup here and it should be accurate but i wanted to take an opinion as to whether I'm making a fuss over something insignificant.

Arlberg is the same way. I've been living in Damirscotta until recently so I got my keys and jeffs mounted at maine sport in Camden for 60 a piece, they even gave me some extra hardware bc I had lost my toe hardware.

The shop I go to in NH does a free mount if you purchase skis OR bindings from them, mounts are $45 otherwise. $70 seems fucking insane.

Called the closest shop to me in central New York and asked what the price was for a flat mount. Guy mumbled something that sounded like $19.95. I responded “$20? Great! I’ll drop them off by the end of the day!” He says “No, it’s $119.95.”

What the fuck? I drove an hour to the closest mountain with a shop and paid $60.

Peter Glenn is my local shop. They charge $50 if you bought everything from them other wise $75.


im just friendly and appreciative before hand and they’ve always charged $50 even though I didn’t buy from them.

moment ftw. Free in about 30 ish mins and they serve YOU beer.

My local ski shop in NH gives a free mount if you buy skis OR bindings. One time they mounted the wrong pair of bindings on my BDogs and offered me to either keep the free bindings (Jester pros) or pick any ski of my choice from the shop with another free mount and still keep the BDogs. Grabbed a pair of poachers, got them mounted and used the binding holes on the BDogs to plug and play a set of Griffons I had laying around. Only shop I'll go to if I have a choice.

They charge to mount even if you buy skis and bindings from them? That's fucking ridiculous. We charge 50$ for a mount if u don't buy anything from us.

Yep. I’m also in Florida. They basically have a monopoly here. It’s either get it done here and pay or hope I can get work done when I travel right when I arrive. But then I end up wasting ski days.

I considered it with the Chetler’s. I really only plan to use pivots so I was going to get a jig.

just never did. Wildcats are getting mounted at moment so it’s free. Grabbing deathwish 104’s while I’m there so I will have them mount those as well.

I feel like those threads are usually shops where some stoned teen mounts skis backwards, 3cm forward of center, or whatever. Measure twice drill once, practice on a 2x4, it's not too hard.

Not 100% on the keep you skis if they fuck up cause that may have been an accident on their part but hit up Ski Fanatics in Campton, NH. Their boot fitter Taylor knows his shit and they carry lots of park focused gear as well as touring gear. Literally the only ski shop I'll spend money at if I'm not traveling.
