Line Blade Optic Series

Has anybody here ridden the Blade Optic Series yet? I am looking for them to be a freeride ski, but am worried that there is too much metal to flick around on side hits or spin a small three. But they also look super playful? I read some reviews and could not get a sense. Looking to pick up the 104. +the green bases look so sick

Edit: I am on the rustler 10 right now so also wondering how it might compare.

Have you ever ridden a ti ski? They generally crush crud, but don't have a ton of flex. They can be tiring at the end of the day, but also don't seem to have a speed limit

I actually skied the 104 and loved it. @Cascara did a great job with the metal keeping the ski super stable but still fun. If you take the numbers at face value it’s not the lightest ski ever but once I had it on my feet it felt way lighter than it should. Honestly, a fantastic overall ski that I think a lot of people should consider adding as a crud-busting, groomer-railing mid-fat option. I know I am

This is super good to hear. I am about ready to pull the trigger on it, and glad to hear it felt a little bit lighter on the feet. Just all the vids of it slashing and popping looked so fun.

Did it feel stable in moguls and bumps at high speed when you skied it?

it’s a metal ski by line, it won’t be the same as a metal ski by say blizzard

I really enjoyed the day I got on them. The pair I had were tuned supper sharp by our German office but even with edges that could cut through steel they were easy enough to get sideways and have some fun on. I was really impressed by them. They were super stable and a great all rounder. Going to be one of my main skis for the year.

You can take a look here. We haven't measured the Blade Optic 104 yet, but I compared the 96 with the Rustler 10.

They seem like fairly similar skis. The profile is almost identical, the weights are within 50g, etc. The main difference is the sidecut radius (15 vs 18m). The Optic is also about 10% softer in bending stiffness (which is not much, would be hard to feel on snow) and pretty much identical in torsional stiffness.

Blade Optic 96 review here, 104 here.

We also have a flash review of the 92 and 114, as well as specs/pics of those skis.

Lastly, in our Deep Dive of the 104, we directly compare it to the Rustler 10.

So I was in the market for a whole new setup this year .. and in my research the blade optic 104 made it to the final 4 for me when I talked to my shop all who tested them extensively said they are playful but can still charge they have twin setup so you can land switch etc .. all in all just a really good Plank .. I didn't end up going for them because I wanted a ski from an independent company not made by a bigger company .. Bottom line they are a great all around ski from everything I have read and been told about them

Line has a pretty good history of making skis like this. I'm sure they killed it. I skied Prophets and Influences for years, and still have a pair in the garage that I might mount up this season.

Is 92 solid in the park, I saw jed riding them but wasn't sure if he had them soley as a park ski
