theabortionatorSki towns be pricey these days. Depwnds qhere you go. Utah seems to be in the cheaper side. Colorado is pretty blown out. Tahoe is still doable. Hopefully you're making decent $$$. Heard of peoples rent jacking up a lot the last few years. People not being able to find housing. Friend couldn't find a spot in Mammoth and had to dip on his job and go. Buddy is moving to Crystal from Boise because his rent was doubling.
Idk. Ski towns are tough the last 5 years. Especially now.
Chron_Rabbitwhat a horrible reply. didn't mention anything about money or anything and you immediately jump to that.
Coleg55Cause it’s a reality. Utah has a big enough city of SLC, where rent can be pretty manageable and won’t just skyrocket.
in Bozeman, my rent went up $400. Had friends that went all the way up to +$800.
I can’t imagine what ski towns are like.

ski_joeWhat’s wrong with east coast? Like genuinely why not?

TreeJamPeople like skiing fast
ski_joeNo better place to ski fast than on good old hard east coast ice
TreeJamGood point. I just like skiing steep stuff
theabortionatorDo you live in a ski town, do you live under a rock?
Lol at "jumping" to anything. Yeah cost of living never impacts a decision to move for anyone ever. The massive increase in 2-5 years in many towns hasn't had a big impact.
Sure dude...
Chron_Rabbitdude I work in Park City and live in SLC, I know its a reality. OP could be a brain surgeon for all you know lmao
theabortionatorSLC has a lit of housing even if the prices have gone up. Some of the ski towns are straight up Insanity right now. Maybe OP has a ton of $$ and money is no object. Idk. But there's a big housing crisis in US ski towns right now I thought was worth mentioning.
Friend with years of park crew park grooming got a job at mammoth, couldn't find housing. Left and moved to SLC to work at Brighton. Rent is getting crazy around Boise right now, buddy is moving to work with me in WA because we got him into employee housing.
Idk just thought it was worth mentioning that things are wild at the moment.
*ninja*I’m in sales for those asking what I do. Im not looking at spending 5k a month to live in aspen but would be nice to find a good deal on a room in jackson, big sky or whistler or something of that nature. Price of ski towns is insane but im just putting it out there to see if anyone knows of something out there that’s available. I don’t want to live in slc or Utah again I already did that. Looking to live in a new place this winter. 2k rent a month is kinda the budget.

ThaLoraxWhen I rent it, I charge about $1000/mo for my extra room in Aspen. I'm sure you're exadurating, but nobody is charging 5k for one room in a shared living space. Even here in Aspen
But, housing in mtn towns are insane now, which is why I try to keep my prices the lowest end of the rental market that I can afford.

bennwithtwonsconsidering the title of the thread is 'ISO of a room...' and not 'ISO a sweet condo to buy' or 'ISO a ski-in/ski-out mega mansion' it is probably safe to assume this person is budget conscious. even for people making lots of money, housing budgets are a major concern. i have several friends making very good money (say $150k-$400k per year) who have moved out of incline in the last couple of years to places like reno and dayton specifically because they wanted to buy homes.
