I’m conflicted on ankilla
i feel like kit chat bars can be interesting and he obviously has been around for a while, but some of the self healing shit and his opinions are very damaging but people seem to like him

I think you should stop and ask yourself, “what percentage of Kit Chat Bars makes any fucking sense to me at all?” And if the answer to that question is somewhere around 10%, you should act accordingly.

He is an OG… everyone at copper respects him, he’s been doing this shit for 10+ years, he organizes events, and brings our community closer. He does more for the community then anyone else I know

He slid off for a bit. Seems like he’s doing better now. He’s always been one for the culture and not afraid to do his own thing. I never minded him, although he did start posting some absolutely whack shit for a bit. But I mean everyone is worth a second chance and everyone seems to say he’s great in person.

He’s doing a good thing for skiing, learned so many cool skiers thru kit chat that I now follow and watch their edits and stuff, good show, sometimes he misses with the jokes but a lot of the times it’s actually pretty funny

creative / visionary people have a degree of mania to them, which makes them come across as crazy to other people because they are partially crazy, but they're partially "touched" too in a way that others aren't, which makes them great artists, generators of culture, innovators, and risk takers. I got respect for ankilla because he is an original. his artwork is super inspirational. and he obviously puts a lot of time into generating ski culture. i know some of what he says sounds absolutely crazy, but he is actually right on some of it. i have respect for him - my only qualm is he can be a little arrogant and assume that his word and opinion is the end all be all. I don't mind the controversial, triggering opinions at all, it's what we need in a PC culture, we need people stirring up the pot. Lots of people are way too fucking docile and scared to speak their mind because it can be offensive. So I enjoy hearing what he has to say and entertaining it, I just don't want to be told its the ultimate truth either.

I always thought he was actually chill and used to like his skiing in like 2015. My room mate who is friends with Mack tho said Chris actually hates him and is actively a sick to him irl. He said Mack made kit chat and came up with the idea and that Chris took it away from him and now is making the fan base shit on him too, which if true I don’t think is very chill. He also literally pushed Mack off a chairlift, although I don’t know the full context of it ankilla claimed it as a “joke” but who knows.

I feel as though he brings a good energy to skiing. The kind of energy that skiing is about having fun and pushing your own limits instead of landing the most spins in the world. Issue is he says extremely uninformed and offensive things online. I would like to meet him in person someday though and see who he actually is.

I'd advise against dealing in such large ultimatums. It's a bad trait some of you younger folks have. He just came into the shop, did a video interview sort of thing and seemed like a good dude. That's all.

however kitchat is doing a huge fucking favor for the ski industry in making ski content "fun" again. Parts of kitchat throw me back to the grungy old days of line traveling circus or trollin. Idk I think kitchat made ski content interactive, rough, and entertaining again besides pro's just posting clean cut edits. I have talked to Chris on instagram over a few discussions on growing up skiing in the midwest, art, and whatnot, he's a good genuine person who has a few questionable ideologies (don't we all??)

He's a cool dude? yes. Do I agree with most of his takes? fuck no. Is he a revolutionary in ski entertainment? abso-fuckin-lutely
