I enjoy fall and the things that come with it. Colder air that refreshes you. The changing of the leaves. Different flavors. Putting on warmer clothes.
But as a skier - this is the absolute worst time of the year. I look at the dusting on mountains and get a little excited. But then it melts away and I’m very quickly reminded that it will be awhile before anything accumulates. This is one giant tease of a season.
I often remind myself of something I heard my first year in Tahoe: ”Winter doesn’t actually start until January 1st”.
Please advise on coping mechanisms. Thanks.
