No hate to steep steep, he's a good dude, we live like in the same neighborhood so I see him often, but his taste in skiing is pretty opposite mine.
First off, skateboarding has tons of similar instances, its called braille you fucking dipshit, Hopking is the same thing, and many other skate companies give influencers free shit. I get it, getting your own graphic is different, but its fucking Gilson man, they are literally the Braille of skiing. Braille gets tons of hate too, and part of me kind of understands why because they aren't exactly the cool kids in skating, but theres more to action sports than having swag. Sure, I don't like watching Aaron Kyro and Jamie Griffon skate, but they do good shit for the community and not everybody has the potential for being a steeze lord. They are trying to take the shortest route to becoming a successful ski brand. It's clear to me but alot of people on here aren't catching on because other ski company heads and influential people post on here and show love to Gilson. I'm relatively anonymous on here so I am gunna hate on them because I dislike their company I dislike their vibes and I just dislike them, it has nothing to do with coolness or whatever.

The quickest way to the top is to sponsor a bunch of no name riders and hold summer rail jams? This isn't Coreupt who dished out cash to sponsor all the big names right out of the gate. From what I have seen Gilson pretty much will sponsor any event they are asked to sponsor and also hold their own events. Trying to get ski companies to sponsor events and give out decent prizes is tough, at least it was 5+ years ago. Any event we would ever hold would have a good snowboard sponsor, but getting ski companies was next to impossible. I hated a good amount on Gilson at the beginning because A: I was a stupid college kid trying to act cool. B: Their ads were pretty damn lame, and the whole soft edge thing seemed super gimmicky. Since then they have floated skis to a bunch of no name skiers, held numerous events, donated a ton of skis to school programs, and changed their ski design so you actually could make turns. Sure they might not be sponsoring movies (are they?) or sponsoring any real big names, but I would be willing to bet they put a larger percent of their earnings back into the community than most ski brands and they are filling a void that many other companies have been ignoring.
SteepSteep is getting the next generation of skiers hyped on the sport. No one should be mad about that
