I seem to vaguely recall....oh yeah that's right the entire republican party, big pharma, insurance companies, and various physician lobbying groups etc are all against universal healthcare. It would lose them money. Period. As long as little white babies continue to be born healthy we can forget that we rank 50th for infant mortality worldwide at the most recent review. Fucking embarrassing.
No government cost controls, no regulations on prescription drug prices, tangled patchwork of insurance companies and private hospitals make administration expensive. Aging population with lots of long term chronic illnesses.

What boggles my mind is it is trendy to make this OK. Obesity is not OK from any perspective. Unless you have an actual disorder that causes you to be obese (no hypothyroidism doesn't count), there's no excuse. Otherwise we could save billions in health care dollars if we solved obesity.
If you think America is obese now, just wait 20 years. Kids today are fatter than fuck.
Side note: Why should I pay the same price for an airline ticket as someone twice my weight spilling over the seat? More weight=more fuel

My guess is it'd be hard to market an airline that you'd have to step on a scale to get tickets. I'd be curious how much of your plane ticket is mass-based fuel costs anyway. I'm sure it's not much, even if you're 400lbs you're still only 0.1% the weight of a 747.
