Today I poking around the C. Springs for urban spots so I’m not coming in unprepared this winter. Feel free to contribute other front range spots!
First up:
Cotton Wood Park
Notes:
Easy spot. Natural drop-in. Smooth stainless steel rail. Lots of sledders and occasionally people with skis and boards on the hill side so gear is not suspicious. Out of sight from main road. Starts low but ends about 6.5’ off ground. Some tree work maybe necessary but might be fine once leaves fall off. Couple shovels and water and could be ready to hit super quick.
Notes:
extremely visible from road and with Campus Security. Full Rail would require drop in or tow in from Nevada Ave side so really visible. Option for natural drop in and only hitting bottom DFD. Unsure how well material would slide. Bring lots of water. Hit middle of night. High vis and a vehicle that could pass as a work vehicle like a white van/truck would be ideal.
Abandoned parking lot from the tech boom days. Likely no security to worry about. Big tow in area but the lot is chained off. Could likely use a bike. Over grown bushes would need some attention. Rail seems ready to slide. Assess needs before hitting obviously. Huba option if you got hella water and hate your skis. Pretty steep rail so bring your good knees.
I don't live in the springs anymore, but the kink rail at the Kum & Go at I-25 and Fillmore would be sick. It probably would have a high kick-out rate though.

It is a sick rail! But, similar to the girls in the bars in a mountain town
during the mudseason, hitability seems pretty hard. The separation of the rail pieces is in terrible spots and theres a few of them. Tree at the end isnt a big deal cause you could drop in off the retaining wall and it would be a dope shot. Parking lot is quite in the way of and potentially to get speed. Would be a huge flex on the highway traffic though lmao
i cant remember exactly where it is but theres a perfect downrail on the greenway bike path north of colorado college campus close to down town. i think its within 5-10 block to the north of the college on the greenway

oh jesus youre kidding. sorry bro. best of luck with the move. i went to school in the springs and actually enjoyed the city; has its own flavor compared to denver which is much more blah
Notes:
Absolute unit of a rail. Steel and mostly smooth. one section at first kink might need an angle grinder but paint is pretty good on there. Long ass run in. 50 yards or so. With some shoveling, potential snow drop in. Otherwise pallet drop in with slope might be easiest. Left of stairs is smooth concrete so
if coming off towards stairs, hop to smooth and should be fine. Decent run off before the street but may feel tight with a lot of speed. Tree may need work depending on how it looks with no leaves.
