Well we live in a quite poorly insulated house which is the best part of 200 years old (it's a "listed" building so we're unable to alter it, as it's protected by law).
Our home energy bills for 2 people (gas & electricity) WOULD have been around £450 ($520) per month however it's just been capped by the government at £200 ($230) a month.
Ohhh right. I do remember reading about how the UK put in a cap recently. Nice.

Seems like when you read it
1. They haven't enacted fines
2. Seems like they are considering potential policy for worse case scenarios
3. You are not jailed for having your house at 20 degrees. IF they ration and IF they decide on this proposed system and IF someone flagrantly or intentionally ignores this and or refuses to pay fines CONTINUALLY then that person MAY be jailed.

People driving cars get JAILED!! (when they get a speeding ticket, repeatedly get the tickets, and don't pay those tickets, and don't show up in court to pay those tickets)

Yes but they will use the muh carbon arguement here and price everyone out from the background rather than the shortages being a result of an actual event like in Europe. I’m already seeing ads about bank accounts that track the “carbon impact” of your purchases so it’s pretty clear where this is going. Buy private property before the CBDC gretabucks makes it impossible to do so.

Land is THE best investment you have up until a certain amount of acreage. It's not a passive income, but you'll always have something to fall back onto and it usually does appreciate if you need to sell later for some reason
