Intuition tour wrap

I skied on a pair last season, and I'm hot and cold on them for a few reasons.

Pros

- Intuition foam is awesome (duh.)

- Wrap liners are awesome (duh.)

- Flex zone does a good job with ROM when skinning or in walk mode.

- Light.


Cons

- Small. Most (if not all) Intuition liners are only sold in whole sizes, and specifically for the Tour Wrap Intuition advised me to size down (I ride a 26.5 Dabello Lupo 130C, Intuition advised a size 26 liner.) The size 26 Tour Wraps were noticeably shorter than my stock liners and consequently fit MUCH tighter in the toebox. This is fine when I'm riding them inbounds, but it kinda sucks when touring. This could just be because Dalbello breaks their shell sizes differently than other brands, and I've just generally found them to have longer BSLs than most, but it was pretty annoying and required quite a bit of extra time molding and remolding the toeboxes to get them comfortable. If you're in a boot with a longer than average BSL I would size up, not down.

- Short cuff height. Or at least shorter than I'm used to with their standard wrap liners. One of the things I really like about most 3-piece shells is the higher cuff height, but the Tour Wrap's cuff is noticeably lower than other Intuition wrap liners. Like the sizing issue, this is manageable but kind of an unexpected bummer.

- Thin. This was expected since it helps keep them light, but I would prefer a slightly thicker foam for a liner designed to be ridden with a 50/50 setup.

This is interesting because they recommended 27 liners for my 26.5 Lupos. However for the powerwrap, not tour wrap. They said to go off my measured foot size for interior liner length. This was a few years ago though.

Yeah there are only a few liners they recommend sizing down, and the Tour Wrap is one. My guess is that it’s because most touring-specific shells have shorter BSLs than alpine and 50/50 boots.

Word. In the pre-Tour Wrap days there were a few people out there basically making their own by cutting a diamond of foam out of the back of a standard wrap liner and splicing in a piece of neoprene (which is exactly how the Tour Wrap is constructed.)
