Gen Z in the workplace

i recently hired two gen zs

-one randomly meows through out the day.
-the other is a scrawny vietnamese kid, who exclusively talks in "worldstar hip hop tik tok speech"

They do a decent job... any one else have gen z at work? how do they interact with people "IRL"

Automation. The one who meows is a mechatronics EIT, and the other is a project coordinator.

I am a gen z I work at an auto shop with gen z, milenieal, and gen y. I can confirm we are all intensly stupid. No meowing but many half hearted your mom jokes, with a sprinkle of direct insult. But no one is soft enough to take it to heart.

Gen Z is pretty much considered a slur in my workplace. It’s not everyone, I see some good potential probably half the new kids on our crew, but by and large this generation took a hard pass on old school construction work ethic and pride.

I’m a gen z’er and I work with everyone from boomers to gen z and all we do is just make banter while working at the same time. I promise not all gen z’ers are like what you described, OP.

I'm gen z and it's very sad how helpless and stupid everyone my age is. I don't know how else to put that but it's really true there's no such thing as hard work or perseverance or even a intelligent conversation. That is why I've loved my last two jobs working with heavy machinery and learning all sorts of trades and I'm working with veterans and 60yr old operators who are eager to teach a young kid the trade.

Haha yea dude I mostly work with guys 30-65 and I agree with you on that one

Also the older generation seems to be a lot more friendly and talkative (when you’re standing in an elevator for example). Most kids just stare at their phones and avoid eye contact. & have the attention span of a goldfish
