Idk ab illest park but me and my family always loved a basin as it felt so much less touristy and the locals were so welcoming unlike breck or key w hella rude know it all denverites
A bay is always a good answer, most of the tourists/transplants don’t hit steamboat or crested butte too hard from what I’ve heard (3 hour drive is tough tho). I think there’s a mountain in Leadville called copper but never been.
Copper is the best park these days, but Snowmass is a good choice for all mountain and park. Telluride is very cool and Abasin has some of the most legit scary ass easily accessible terrain in the state.

lol Steamboat is packed to the brim with tourists.

Powderhorn, Loveland, Sunlight, Purgatory if you’re looking for non corp non tourist. Although purg is technically owned by a corp, it’s not like other corporation resorts. Cooper is fun too but kind of boring outside of the tree runs
Wolf Creek arguably the least corporate touristy vibe - day pass 70$ and the mountain stays super empty even on weekend pow days. Some super sick terrain if you know where to look

Also silverton but that's a different animal
Silverton was the best money I have ever ever spent skiing.
Once you catch a heli ride you'll never want to go to a "Resort" again.
Wolf Creek checks all the boxes except park. Monarch and Loveland get honorable mentions. Unfortunately anywhere with a half decent park in the state is gonna be super corporate.
Beaver creek can be pretty good. It's corporate It's crowded but people stay away from the pow sometimes. And there's several zones that are sometimes empty on an otherwise busy day. People will be blowing out Vail wall to wall and BC is chillin sometimes.
As people mentioned everywherebis kind of blown out. Plenty of good terrain if you go on the right days. Plenty of days wherw lines are long and people are trying to stab each other though.
Also not sure why somebody mentioned Crested Butte as a mtn that nobody goes to lol. Maybe years ago. At minimum not since they sold to Vail. I hward they're housing employees in gunnison in hotels or wherever these days if that says anything about CB blowing out.
Sunlight, Monarch, Powderhorn, Wolf Creek, A Basin and Loveland are probably the least corporate you'll find with fun terrain... but none of them have a great park. Monarch's is... okay. You need money to put a good park together.
But IMO (maybe I'm old), coming to the rocky mountains to ski park is like going to the east coast to ski couloirs.

I feel that bro… I’m going out for a family trip and was just trying to kill 2 birds. If I can ski anything, I’m honestly happy. I won’t really need the sickest park. I’ll have to knock the rust off anyway. 💪🏻
I had an echo night pass but didn’t go once last year. Kinda lame but it was a present. Just didn’t do it for me. I do love Squaw pass road and that area though
Jandrito43Echo is super sweet for chill late night laps but there was no park last season, really affordable too. Cool vibes
BradFiAusNzCoCaI used to get free silverton days back when I had a powderhorn pass. Skiing Silverton was something else. That drive from Ouray is no joke too
Durango to Silverton and back was my favorite drive in my old Fiesta ST during the shoulder seasons. There is only spot outside of Durango where a trooper would sit so after it you could rip the rest of the way.

That’s the nice pretty route. The other way is a picker

kory.p4kyes fkn sir!!💪🏻 That blue goes hard braj 👌🏻
I miss it. I bought it with 12k miles and immediately went the whole big turbo/fuel pump/injector/E85 tune/aux fuel with meth route.
Drove it like that until Carvanna offered more than what I paid in 2018. Stripped the performance stuff and sold it. Pretty much broke even in the end.

We had a kid and it was going to sit way too much to not have the extra 11k in the bank.
Ive already tuned our Volvo V70 out of boredom lol.
Never sell the RS. Those things seemed to retain value like a Tacoma.
Haven't hit a park in years so take my comment with that in mind.
I ski arapahoe basin mid-week so I'm biased but I'd recommend it for non-park skiing. Lap the Pali lift then hit up 6th alley at the end of the day. Loveland has similar vibes.
I'd also recommend wolf creek which can pile up snow early season if things are blowing in from the south. They had a massive storm in mid to early October a few years ago and we crashed in their lot all night - not sure if that's still an option.
Silverton is a blast if that's your thing but you'll need a beacon, shovel, probe which you can rent. If you go that route, get a guide. Also, there is a ton of car camping just on the Silverton side of the highway on the right as you are coming into town from Ouray - on the right, down a dirt road, on the river. Just check iOverlander. You can also stay at the Canyon View Motel which is open in town during the winter. It saved us one night when the temp dropped significantly below zero. Also, stop in and say hi to the CAIC guys.
For park, I'm guessing Copper is your best best. It's honestly probably your best bet as well if you want a mixture of solid skiing along with park as you can take the tbar and venture out back. Hit that shit on a weekday though and be ready for the nightmare of fuckin i70.
If you like bumps. Mary Jane.

Used to be my local for a season. The tree skiing there is where it really shines. Fun local vibes without feeling like there’s nothing there. Also, the cross country skiing in the mesa is unreal pretty.
I want to take a trip this year with free days from Loveland pass
sullivanobmy grandma lives near powder horn idk if its good tho. went there in the summer once
OldManAtABasinVery much not a "destination resort" which is nice and trees galore.
If you're looking for non-resort whatsoever, there's some good spots to hit off Loveland Pass. Midway up the pass at one of the switchbacks there's a bunch of rails hidden in the trees if you know where to look. Also, you can buildup jumps with the boys if you hike a bit off the top of Loveland Pass or do some backcountry if that's what you're into.
