Lazy 3s advice

probably should’ve posted this during winter but whatever…I spent an afternoon trying to get lazy 3s down. I got a few clips where I got close but from the side on clip, I’m basically landing in the same way I took off which isn’t ideal. Other than a bigger jump which I know I need to take it to, how do you uncork yourself out of these?

Go faster to get more airtime. Pull your knees in to make it easier to change your position in the air. Try pushing your hands forward (in front of your knees) when you land.

i like to bite into a more dramatic turn and drag your hand so when you take off you can really dip into it, which makes it come all the way around more easily

- go faster, you don’t pop on these so you’ll have to go faster than normal, find a larger jump- makes it way easier.

- when you sit down try to keep your ass close to your heels and your weight more centered.

- when you carve off the jump look under the armpit, this will send you into a better cork 3.

Yeah just roll off that lead hand, they have a nice way of coming to the feet

Aha I’m 5’11, 28 and a solid 180 so not sure I tick many of those boxes. Had some stiff legs the day after for sure

what youre doing:
-laying back too much.
-too slow
-forcing yourself out of the axis

what you should be doing:
-staying more upright in the tuck approching the lip (chest closer to your knees)
-setting the rotation by bringin your chest back and down off of the lip (under your armpit)
-dial in the speed for the jump as if you are not able to pop up.
-ideally you should be facing stomach down at the maximum height/peak/zero g of the airtime
-imagine it like there is a wall standing on the knuckle and you want your feet to hit the wall first.


i think to properly progress the lazyboy 3 is get good speed off the lip. to be comftable with it, get good at doing a "worm turn" off of knuckles of bigger jumps. gradually increase the speed and embrace the offaxis feeling of it. if you get the timing right you dont have to rush/catwist the second half of the rotation to get back to your feet. it will just bring you around on its own.

also get comfortable with landing on your opposite hip or wear impact shorts.
