bingingbouldersI just realized it didn’t happen, anyone know why?
Goretex_VidalOlympic year ate a ton of the field that would have been shooting realski

keagan.karstensThey heard woflowz been in the skreets lately and couldn’t handle such a dominant performance
JemsI feel like if you're good enough to be in the olympics you shouldn't be competing in real ski vs borderline amateurs
skiermaneheath and ESPN couldn't come to terms on his contract so he pulled out. Little known fact, eheath owns the trademark to "Real Ski" so without his consent, they cannot legally hold the competition.
GrandThingsXGames just got sold in January. They're trimming fat
KilaTsunamiThey need to revise the whole thing, mostly the duration of each athletes part needs to be x3 times as long
eheathI agree it needs to be re-done, but 1 min is perfect IMO
We don't need xgames for this event, you just need 50k and some people in the right positions to promote and run this kind of event, it can and will be better and hopefully not run by xgames.
asparagustoo bad the entire street scene is valued at around $12.99
eheathAll it takes is a couple of sponsors, if I was in a different position I would try and do something like this with NS or something, but someone like wallisch with resources and connections could produce an event like real ski.
asparagusI thought it was permanently cancelled? Idk I remember a podcast with LJ Strenio and he talked about it being finished or something
skiermanYou know the event title would be changed to something cringy like, "Tom Wallisch's Real Ski Pretzelmania Sponsored by Monster Energy and executive produced by Tom Yaps 2022"
eheathhonestly better than "Xgames real ski" dont you think?

S.J.WOn the Maryand podcast Wallisch talked about how brands don’t care about “core” skiing or giving back to the community. It’s all about the Benjamin’s and unless you can convince a company that they will see a net positive return on their investment they won’t do shit.
social media has ruined action sports as a whole. Instead of investing money to create sick events to get your athletes noticed and your brands out there, all they need to do is post on Instagram and get 5 times the views than war of rails ever would.

KCoCMskierman being marginally nice on this thread what the fuck is going on
DlonettiI remember watching the 2017 real skis on the weekly before I would go skiing, especially Magnus Henrik and LJ. Those had me so hyped. Such a bummer that it didnt happen this year I hope it returns

KilaTsunamiInteresting, I think that 1 minute for the amount of time the athletes put into the project is pretty restrictive.. at least let them do a whole song’s length (stairway to heaven, and free bird excluded ofc) lol
eheathTo me, real ski and any equivilant event is about high level skiing with no frills. I love me a full seg with more than just heaters, but IMO for a contest, its best to have every athlete putting put only their best clips and keeping it simple. Its easier to judge, easier to promote and its less pressure on the athletes to get a "full seg".
I think that an event like this has to have as little impact on someones season as possible or else nobody will be interested. If you were to create longer videos that take the whole season, then were basically talking about a 'best urban segment' award, not real ski, jah feel?

eheathyou just need 50k
Level1LMAO
Level1LMAO
eheathI mean you could 100% do it with 50k, but that would be the bare minimum. As you would know, its hard to find substantial money without corporate influence. Its a difficult balance.
