AndrewGravesSVcould probs kfed. depends on jump transitions for other tricks
asparagusI can see the skis popping off from the swap impact
ReturnToMonkeyI don't think they'd take the sideways force of a rail, that's literally what they're made to release from the easiest. I bet they would take any size jump if you landed perfectly perpendicular to the landing so you weren't pulling up with either your toe or heel
BrandoComandoI could probably get off the chairlift
SchizoSkierKinda want to try that this season lol. How stupid would it be to straight air coppers pro line on lowest dins
Farmville420I ride 9 dons and my skis ejected probably twice on jumps. Considering I hit probably 1,000ish jumps this season, that’s 0.2% chance. Now we take that 0.2% chance and increase it 9 times (since a 1 din is 9x lower than my current din), and we get a 1.8% chance my skis will fail. That is probably a lower chance than me falling on the trick, so I will say that I could every single trick in my bag on 1 dons.
ghoti_hookI’m not the most knowledgeable about ski bindings but my math and skiing experiences are making me think that the relationship between force needed to release and the DIN setting is probably not linear. This concept did have me doing a bit of searching. I found this chart on Howell’s binding site (they are the guys trying to make a lateral release binding)
It only shows the pre-release forces for DINs of 4,5, and 6. Interesting concept though. Thanks for giving me something to think about.

WunhungL0There's din?
CaseyFunny story this kind of happened to me once. I got brand new skis and bindings and was meeting up w a big group to ski park like as I was getting my shit from the shop for the first time so I was in a hurry. I pop my shit on flossing the all new gear I’m so hyped for my first run. Get to the first booter and go to hit the takeoff and just pretty much leave both my skis on the lip as I flail sail a 30 foot step down with no skis. I pole planted by accident on hitting the landing and punched myself in the face with my own fist/pole and start bleeding everywhere. Turns out the shop set my dins at like 5 so I was pretty much on a suicide mission out the gate.
SavageBiffI’ll give you $100 for every trick you land off a 20’ minimum set to a “1don”
No they’re called Dons according to this guy ^^
Farmville420Shake my hand rn and I’ll spend a day at copper next season riding 1dons and feasting on your bank account
SavageBiff👋
I’ll be there for verification bud , you dm me any day and I’ll leave the basin and come film and notify the medical patrollers for ya
SavageBiffBasically same thing happened to me but when I was a weeee lad, before the days of cranking them bitches to 14 on my own, picked up new skis for whatever reason they was on fucking 4, like u I was hyped bout the new gear, my first twin tips, I fucking send a 30 footer, nothing huge but top of my ability range at that moment, all a sudden I’m doing a running man mid air, I was consciously scared for my knees on landing , tried landing on two poles and two feet, sprained both wrists and took a pole to the stomache, it snapped and I kneeled on the basket as I fell, now every time I kneel it feels like there’s a piece of sand on my knee, hurts like fuck, and where are my skis this whole time? 1 on the jump, one 100 feet away
NotaskibumY'all both gotta learn to immediately drop polls when falling
