It's weird that we care more about the flag than the people that live in the country it represents. Put a shoe on a red white and blue piece of fabric(probably made in Asia) and people lose their minds. Disrespecting the flag and America, and freedom and stuff.

Some new oil refineries and pipelines sure would be useful in lowering those gas prices. Why doesn't someone go build some?
In all seriousness though, I'm not a fan of this headline below that just broke. This is a multidimensional problem of which this will have little impact and probably negatively impact us in the long term. The oil companies' pricing strategies are what's fucked. If you follow the price of oil, the gas prices are super quick to raise and very slow to drop down. They do a ton of speculation in their price setting and are totally taking advantage of the situation right now. Everyone wants to point to one individual source because it benefits their agenda, when in reality it's a ton of factors, most of which are ignored in general debate.
Pennsylvania,in general, one of the highest state gas taxes.....promise relief on that end but no sign of a break as of yet
And locally, a monopoly with one small refinery and the same exact price for a hunnert miles

Its actually super simple. A bunch of refineries shut down during covid and now with Russia doing their bullshit, there are even fewer refineries. I wonder if the leader of the most powerful nation on earth could "encourage" these energy company CEOs to build more refineries? Considering how many subsidies and benefits they get from our government, You'd think they would be able to work out a deal.

Lol thanks for the article confirming exactly what I am saying. The president should incentivize them to build more refineries but he won't because 1. his brain is turning to mush and 2. his plan to fight climate change is at odds with it.
