Replying to My ski pant company
What's up NS, story time. Back in January of 2020 a few of my friends came to me asking to help them create a company. They wanted to create skate decks and print some hoodies and pop them up on a website. It was to be called "Manaic". I don't skate but I thought it sounded fun to learn how to create clothes and to understand how a company runs. We painted some decks and started making an attempt to sell them. I was put in charge of the whole company, and my friends did the art. The company grew and grew and after a year we were shipping clothes and decks around the country. I didn't know anything about skating, but I love making clothes and running a business. I wanted to sew patches we made onto clothes so I bought a sewing machine. I am only 17 so when I was learning how to ski it was the mad bag, era. You all remember, 5xl tall tees over a huge saga hoodies with skull candy headphones on. I loved watching style. Not only the skiing but the clothing they wore. Naturally I tried to sew up pants in my basement. I made a few pairs of pants, messing around with different shapes and measurements until I found exactly what I wanted. These pants turned out sweet but not to the quality level I wanted to sell. I realized the company needed change. It had no passion or purpose behind it. I am so involved with skiing that I wanted to get more involved with the community. I wanted to continue the brand because I enjoyed it, but the whole brand needed a restart. I could not create a product and brand I am passionate about if I am not remotely passionate or involved in the sport I am catering to. I stopped posting on instagram and closed down the website until I had a product I truly believed in. I rebranded the company Maniac Freeski and started over. So learned how to make a tech pack and spent 10 months designing working with different factories until I created exactly what I wanted. We built our dream ski pant. I wanted a pant that was really baggy, but didn't have the waist of a 3xl pant. I also struggled to find a pair of bibs baggy enough without going so huge it didn't fit right in places. I am so proud of how the pants came out. I am currently rebuilding the website. The first generation of pant will go live on the website within the next week or so. I put so much passion into making them so I hope you like them. The pants at first will be only be availably in one size, hopefully that will change soon. The bib strap is very adjustable so that fit a majority of people. I have friends short than me (5 7) rocking them and the are just a bit long, and friends that are 6 foot and they still fit fine. The pants have one vent per leg, one hand pocket per leg, a zipper pocket on the bibs, one zipper pocket per leg, one cargo pocket per leg, and two cargos on the back. The pants also have reinforced thinker material all the way around the bottom, and at the the ankle area. The pants are very baggy but not ridiculous. The pants are a decently thick 2 layer material. The inside layer has an elastic at the ankle that works perfect with every ski boot I have tested it on. The price is not final yet but I am hoping to have the pre order be at $150. I am trying to make them affordable as possible. I want to continue to make them better every generation, along with come out with new products. I want to support local events and projects anyway possible. The instagram is @maniacfreeski. If you have any questions or want more photos please reach out!
