Turd__AuthorityI hate the generalization of "mass shooting" as a term. Most people associate it with what we see on the news like a school shooting, not some shooting where 5 gang members are shot because they were playing stupid games and won their prize. So then the media spins it in a way to include all these gang shootings and it's misleading. Terror is what fuels this hype and they're bending the facts to hype it up.

Black neighborhoods aren't predominantly dangerous because of crazed mentally deranged shooters going off the rails, but rather gang violence and other crimes. But a neighborhood doesn't have to be black. It's more a poverty thing. This doesn't happen often in the suburbs and when it does, 7 days on CNN 23 of 24 hours of coverage daily.

Tldr: I am agreeing that shootings happen far more often in poor neighborhoods but we don't seem to have a problem until it happens to middle class and above. I see more kids shot in my city annually than happened in Texas and Newtown combined but NOBODY talks about that. Gun control won't solve gang violence. This is too trendy of a topic. I'm out.

yungonaI don’t have a statistic but I would say a majority of gang violence is carried out with unregistered illegal firearms. I don’t think gun control will help solve gang violence.

Weirdly a lot of the people that say, "It's mental health not a gun issue" then take a hard pass on getting people better access to mental health resources. Interesting how mental health only matters when it's convenient for diverting attention. In terms of actually fixing things? Meh, let's just keep ignoring it

qazwsxedc34Catholics molest far less than public school teachers based on frequency. Rabbis have one of the highest molestation rates but we never hear about that because a group of people dominates what can and cannot be said on the media.
