Also getting driving privileges revoked doesn't mean anything from preventing someone driving a car lol. People get duis all the time on suspended or revoked licenses.

Yeah, this is an observation that gun control advocates always refuse to make. All of their plans rely on the government being this all-knowing altruistic entity that handles the bad guys with swift justice. They are not living in the real world. Just look at What the DA in Los Angeles is doing letting criminals go free. A lot of urban jurisdictions aren't convicting criminals with the laws we have currently. If a felon is in possession of a firearm, they should go to jail; if someone gets a restraining order placed against them, they should have their guns removed. This is already the law and yet we don't see it enforced as often as it should be. The ATF is too busy going after people with arm braces and bump stocks to bother with actual criminals.

So what happens when we ban high-capacity magazines and "assault weapons" and it doesn't prevent the next mass shooting because our government sucks at enforcing the law? All they'll have to do is look at that nice new gun registry we gave them with universal background checks and go down the list of everyone dumb enough to register their guns and confiscate, confiscate, confiscate! I mean uhhh "buy them back".

All that it takes for these people's plans to unravel is a lazy judge or cop, or even worse a corrupt one.

Yeah we shouldn't even try. What we should do is double/triple down on guns like we always do because that's the only thing we find comfort in.

I don't know about your school, but my schools even in the 90's would have been virtually impossible to attack with a truck.

Even my university campus had big ass bullards at every entrance that would have needed to be unlocked and removed in order to drive a truck onto the campus. It's a lot easier just to buy an AR15 and a bunch of ammo than organize a truck attack on campus...

DingoSeanThey regulate alcohol and automobiles. A lot.. and it's decreased heavily. This isn't the flex you thought it was.


to illustrate this: Here's a chart from Wisconsin - which prides itself on its alcohol consumption. There, Alcohol-related crashes have diminished from 30,000 to 5000 a year since the late 70s peak period. Fatalities have decreased by half. They didn't have to ban or confiscate cars to do this.

If they started regulating guns as we do just about everything else in the USA without serious complaints, perhaps we would see a decrease in firearms-related homicides. If it saves even one life, it's worth it.
