Help me choose a washington resort

For the amount of times I've been to Snoqualmie, I've never actually ridden at Alpental before. What's the terrain like? I had an Ikon this year and really only skied at Crystal, and I grew to really love the flow of the trails, if that makes sense. Having long runs all the way down the mountain with rollers and knuckles, cat tracks, side hits, all the little things along the way that none of the 3 main Snoqualmie summits have. Ikon took Crystal off the unlimited days resorts and I don't see why I'd pull $1150 out of my ass and drive 4 hours round trip every weekend, so I'm deciding between a Steven's premium pass or an unlimited pass at Snoqualmie for this next season. Steven's seems like the better option for what I want, but I wanted to ask about Alpental and see if it's enough to justify going for Snoqualmie since all my friends go for the park.

Mid week no one is at alpental, also super sick vibe there with tons of side hits and what not. Also seems like there incredibly chill with people building their own jumps and side hits

most of this is true except for the first thing you said..

super Tuesdays are a thing of the past. Most days there will be a decent line on chair 2. Not like a crystal mountain length of a line, but the days of an empty pow day at alpy are a thing of the past. Thanks, Epic.

But yeah, overall it is a chill spot and super fun when its a fresh dump.

Alpental is pretty different than the rest of snoqualmie. Jagged peaks, steep terrain, lots of trees and more technical than most. Even with the backcountry gates, it’s not very big, and with the recent crowds it’s basically overrun with people all the time. Picture 800 people waiting on a rickety ass double chair to the top. Like there’s crowded and there is completely out of control- that’s Alpental

not sure if you've been there recently but alpental is a gong show on every day ending in y. they don't have the lift capacity to handle last year's stevens rejects and now that crystal is going limited again it's only gonna get worse

Isn't it heartbreaking? I can remember pow days there where I literally skied on to chair 2 all day. Maybe 20 people total on the mountain on a Tuesday/Wednesday...

All I know is that baker fucking sucks and it rains basically every day during winter. Stevens is the place to go for sure.

yeah i've pretty much stopped skiing there because it's just impossible to hot lap. on the rare days where i can't make it to crystal i just go to central and hit the park now

Alright, so I grew up skiing Stevens and I gotta say the place is fucking awesome(vail aside),,, super good hits all mtn AND the park is back to its glory zone with Suuuper fun features and dooope jumps. Qualm is dope, just invest in a rain kit. Same with baker actually. Chrystal is fucked expensive, and supposedly mid park.
