Is crystal worth a 5hr drive and car camping?

I just moved to Spokane area out of co in April and I need to ski before season is officially done.

is there a couple trails/park I could rip that would justify the money spent on travel/lift ticket?

I really just want to ski lol

at this point, not really. the parks have been completely plowed down and there’s only 2 lifts open, along with the gondola. it’s a two hour drive from where i’m at and even i question whether or not it’s worth the effort at this point lol, can’t imagine a 5 hour drive from spokane

Any resorts closer to Spokane than whistler lol? I’m really debating sending the drive after I get out of the office this Friday. I’ve got a vail employee pass that should still be active since I moved/quit.

the only lifts operating are the gondola and green valley, you can check em out on the trail map. No park features set up but gv has some great lips, cliffs, and natural terrain to catch air on. Same goes for lapping the gondola but it’s mostly groomers and the off piste is quite peppery

Nope they all decided they don't make enough money in the spring so they closed a month and half ago. This is aimed at schweitzer, but if you're going to have prices like a big resort, you can at least stay open like a big resort

I don't think so. Its 14 degrees here, I think black comb park is probably your best best cuz everything is still up.

The overnight lows in the village are 4 or 5C for the weekend. Squamish is 6 or 7C, not too cold to sleep in a car by any means.

Make sure to look into all the border requirements, you may need to fill out the ArriveCan app and upload proof of vaccination status. I don't believe you need to test at all if you're crossing by car.

It looks like that's an 8.5 hour drive though. The park up on Blackcomb was still fully open ten days ago and they might get fresh snow tomorrow and Wednesday.

I am actually. I'm just b*tching about how schweitzer keeps getting more unaffordable for regular people while not adding any services (besides a hotel regular people can't afford). Like rn the epic pass and the schwietzer pass are the same price, how does that make sense.

SSV is expensive but so is Whis. There are def. places you can car camp, because my bro @Crabbeski_NB has been at that. Feel free to DM him or me.

theres no more snow here pretty much except for maybe saint sauveur but my local mountain (bromont) is literally opening its bike park friday

I drive 5 hours every weekend and car camp to ski bumps at Killington. Everyone values it differently OP. Do your thing and at the minimum you get a small road trip and camping is fun too.
