Sir Francis bacon questions

I own a pair of the 2020 SFBs in 190. They ski a little bit shorter compared to a lot of skis.

Pros: Very fun. Butters super easy, pretty light, plus theres a lot more ski due to the width of it so it floats well, and factory mount is like -2 or something. Does better than I expected in the park.

Cons: Forget charging through anything. These are nicknamed "Wet Noodles" for a reason. Yeah, youl be buttering and spinning down the mountain but if you want to charge super hard or are skiing chop at all youre very unstable. Also does not handle well at high speeds. And forget it on Ice.

My conclusion- I always had either a really good day with them or a really bad day with them. super fun except there were maybe like 3 days this season where I regretted bringing them out and wish I brought something a little stiffer. Wouldnt recommend as a one ski quiver or if you live somewhere thats generally icy. Fun quiver ski as long as you have another all mountain ski thats a little less niche than the bacons, and a more dedicated park ski. Just my .02

Yeah theyre pretty easy to overflex if thats what youre talking about. especially if youre buttering at a pretty high speed or land with your skis flexed. I also noticed that if I drove the ski too hard forward then I would overflex it. As far as stopping quickly idk how much your ski has to do with it as much as your ability or even boots, but ive never had any issue stopping and I weigh more than you do.

save your money. I like soft skis but after one day they just flex out way too much. they will probably hurt your skiing if they’re a one ski quiver. I should also add that mine delaminated at the base on day four

If you want to just try them out, you could always pick up a cheap pair already mounted just to have as a quiver ski, and then get a different soft all mountain like one of the skis mentioned above later this summer. What sort of skiing do you do?

I’m moving out to Colorado for college. I’m pretty good at skiing I can do steeps and bumps. I like power just haven’t skied it I whole lot since of where I live. I like jumping off shit a lot too
