twinkle_toesYep
I’m an HVAC apprentice and I got 130+ days in this season while working full time 40 hours/week.
My company is amazing though and my boss let me work Monday-Wednesday 10/12 hour days so I can ski Thursday-Sunday. Only did that for about 2 months, but the rest of winter I was working 5 days a week. Coming up to night ski almost every night.
It’s fucking tiring and not for the faint of heart I’ll tell ya that. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. Builds character and toughens me up. Taught me how to manage my time and responsibilities in order to do what I love. I also love my job, damn happy that I’m not sitting in a desk all day.
Financially speaking - I paid off all my debt last week. Took out a student loan to get me through first year but the rest of it is paid training so I’m golden. (Plus e.i payments when ur in school).
and if you’re like me and hate acedemic work, each level of school only lasts like 6-8 weeks, then you’re back in the field. So you just gotta tough it out and get your head in the game, pass all your weekly exams and get your ticket.
Jobs are always in demand especially carpentry(do some research on job demand where you live, it may be different) Ya can’t go wrong with a trade. Highly recommend it. There’s a skilled worker shortage and people are hurtin for good guys n gals.
also just outta curiosity, why carpentry ?
PakanakaSounds good. Im doing carpentry becuase its the only apprenticeship out there that is located at my home mountain and its a pretty rare opportunity.
