What is with the angry dudes on any social post about inclusivity??

For those who arent troll and still angry; its a form of tribalism/fanaticism. To help disregard their stupid angry post, think that they never done anything to contribute to the sport. Its when you push through difficult sessions, you tend to chill and understand the athlete side of things.

Its time for them to get out of the way because this scene is starting to go down the shitter because of them and also how "popular" and "SuPeR CoOl" it is to ski nowadays with beaters moving in from out of state. Im all for everyone wanting to ride snow because its provided experiences second to none for myself, but we also have to address the poser scene that is coming in hard as well. I'm talking all you ski social media influencers too. You're not in it for inclusivity, you're in it for clout.

HypeBeastDoes it matter why you wanna ski? It really shouldn't. Poser scene, influencers, novices stoked to move somewhere for a radical sport, who cares. This post seems like a higher than thou attitude aka "if you're not out there to ski, then go home" kinda deal. Maybe I'm misinterpreting this but if I'm not, really who cares? The more attention snow sports gets the better.

Then people in marginalized groups say it has been, have some events, go have fun on the mtns, and angry dudes post angry things.

There's been a bunch of cool events getting women, people of color, queer folks out shredding. It's been a good thing. There are always some angry white straight men yelling in any of the posts.

Why do people doing things in the outdoors make these people so angry? Also how do they not realize that their douchey posts show the reason that those events exist?

twinkle_toesI always assumed that (in general) angry / negative people are usually angry because of other issues in their lives, or because of trauma... and as a result, it leaks out when they get triggered by little things.

For example, I have a coworker that has really bad anger issues and everyone knows it. He will absolutely lose his shit over the most minor things!
He's in his 60's. But I know for a fact he had a pretty rough life growing up, and his journeymen treated him like shit when he was learning. So it probably contributed to why he's always angry and acts like a dick.

Idk, i guess what im trying to say is that - we are a product of our environment. That being said, it doesn't automatically give people an excuse to treat people like shit. But it helped me a ton to approach it from an understanding point of view, rather than get angry back at them. Cuz that litrrally does nothing but fuel the fire and take away from my own piece of mind

Or do you mean it's a difficult sport to get involved in due to social and financial restraints? Getting middle to low income groups into skiing is challenging enough financially. Hate adds a whole new level that we don't need.



Side note: there's way too much territorial hate going on in skiing and just living somewhere in general (e.g. "This is my mountain and has been ruined by tourists and ikon/epic pass holders", or "quit moving to Colorado", etc). Why can't we just focus on ourselves and let people be themselves

It really isn't that hard. Think about it, one of the only reasons things are changing is representation. People came out. That representation has been huge not only in gaining rights, but for queer kids trying to figure things out.

When so much has been against people for so long, can you just let them have a video? If they want to put something about being queer in it, what is it to you?

Over all the negative shit when people come out or do projects that mention them being queer people get mad? Honestly that's probably why groups like pink dollar possy exist now. So in your face if you don't want to watch it don't, but you know it's there, and it's fucking awesome.

Just a bummer that "everyone is such a sensitive snowflake" vibe on the one hand and then somebody makes a movie that says queer, and those same people can't handle it.

Nobody is being left out, you don't have to be queer to enjoy it, you also don't have to enjoy it, or watch it at all. People can move along to the next thing. Honestly it's great to see representation in skiing and snowboarding. Haters gonna hate, but that's their own issue. 🌈🦄🌈✌️❤️❤️

Idk if it was actually racism or something to do with the way the comp circuit allows ppl to be recruited, which could also be tracked back to racism because in order to actually get involved in the comp circuit you need either a million sponsors or boatloads of cheddar and prove large lol
