never bought a new ski before... never owned a park ski model from after 2012. Super excited. anyone have any tips for mounting, using, shit like that based off prior experience? super excited and want more to be excitedly anticipating

Well what are your intentions then? Super vague question… other than mounting I have no clue what you’re asking about other than just saying you got v’s.


if you’re mounting do you have the right tools? Right drillbit size? Right driver-bit size for your bindings? Wood glue or epoxy to seal off the holes?

Hey I’m hyped for you dude, new skis are always fun! Just ordered my first pair of v’s as well. Also since it’s a fully symmetrical jib/park ski definitely mount true center. Like @KilaTsunami said put some pivots or attacks on them and you’ll be golden (or whatever decent binding you have that you like, they are your skis after all)

Just so you know vishnus are fully symmetrical so don’t mount them anywhere but true center. And as for what to try, I think you’re trying to ask the best way to use them. Go hit rails/ learn how to hit them if u haven’t already, and learn how to butter, you’ll have a good time

dude lmao you and other recent gold name guy seriously need to just stop thinking about vishnus and jets for a second, you're tying yourself up in knots over nothing



OP-- mount em where the company says to (it's prob true center) and i def advise dulling your edges a little since it's primarily a rail ski. duller edges will slide much more easily on rails and help prevent edge cracks. a gummy stone is my preferred way to do this

bindings, 'round these here parts look pivots are the gold standard, and if you want something cheaper or lighter tyrolia attacks (12 or up; 11 is kids' binding) or salomon STHs are also super popular

have fun, enjoy the skis, if you see weird dudes staring at them while steam comes out of their ears, put your hands in the air so they can see that you are not a threat

I’m not the one tied up in knots when OP doesn’t know how to ask a question. I’m not the one thinking about Vishnus, I just see there are way too many fucking threads about how someone got Vishnus or how they’re thinking about buying them or whatever.

I'll beat this dead horse until its a protein shake.

Mount your skis similar to the way they were designed. Are they symmetrical? Close to or at center. Is it a pro model where the athlete always mounts -2cm? I will lose my shit if you mount it -9cm or something. Is it a race ski meant to me mounted super far back? do that. Don't like these mountings? You bought the wrong ski, and you will only compromise by mounting it wrong.

Wets are symmetrical so mount them center or don't stray too far (maybe 2.5cm back at most)

Also dull your edges so they don't crack, and if you have any decent mechanical/carpentry skills mounting your own skis is pretty easy
