Best skier in the world? Well it depends, what type of skiing are we talking about, and even then how do you judge the “best” skier? If we’re talking about irrelevant skiing I’d say bode miller or Lindsey vonn, if we’re talking about skiing that matters there’s Gus kenworthy in the halfpipe, henrik Harlaut in the big air, Tom Wallisch in slopestyle and Markus Eder in big mountain. I think there will be no “greatest skier of all time” because the title is inherently unanswerable. But I guess if I had to say the best skier in the world?
I would have to say henrik still

Henrik is up there but definitely isn’t at the top
if we’re going off pure SKILL i think kuura koivisto is the best in the world considering he’s a robot on rails (with style) and did the worlds first future spin.
If you’re talking about park skiing, A Hall is probably at the top right now. But in a few years Matej Svancer will be the best I think

well who else has done a future spin? switch? winning comps doesn't always mean you’re the best skier when the game is trying to please judges

In terms of current best overall skier on the planet I think it has to be Markus Eder. Guy is a fwt champ, crazy on park features, and does it all with a super clean style.
Runners up who are close are Sammy Carlson, Parker White, Karl Fostvedt, and Dane Tudor.
To be the best overall skier imo you have to have done urban, park, backcountry jumps, and big mountain all to the highest level. Obviously Candide and Tanner deserve shouts as some of the best overall freeskiers ever but age has slowed them a bit especially in the rail department. I feel I can't mention PWhite without Chris Logan as they are on similar levels but i think pwhite edges him. Bobby Brown is getting there but I feel like i need to see some more big mountain lines, when was the last time we had footage of tim durtschi sliding a rail?

Kuura is just a favorite at least for me, didn’t say he’s actually the best in the world as it’s hard to say who is actually the best in the world. Kuura has the style, and a sick trick bag, In terms of who I think is actually the best atm I can feel comfortable saying Ahall as he has the style, tricks, as well as the medals to help solidify that

This list has got the goods, many of the same names that came to mind for me.
As others have said before it’s kinda impossible to say since there are so many different types of skiing disciplines from super g, slalom, ski jumping, skimo, xc, decathlon, aerials, moguls, free ride, pipe, big air, park, street and many more. But it’s always a fun (while fruitless) discussion to have.
Right now, Markus Eder overall. The ultimate run seeing him throw big Bios first hit stomp into pow off of massive drops and also just his control fluidity and style is something else. And he slays rails too if he wants. 4 onto a giant S rail to underflip out is an amazing trick. In terms of each individual discipline I'd break it down like this:
Big Mountain Charging: There may be someone completely unknown right now doing crazy shit, but I still have to give this to Aymar Navarro for his absolutely gnarly sends.
Big Mountain Freestyle: Markus Eder(Followed closely by Ross Tester in this category)
Park jumps: Matej Svancer or Birk Ruud, I'd lean Matej since a nose butter triple 1980 is just absurd
Park Rails: Much more difficult, but I give this to Alex Hall right now right now based on consistency and tech, Colby Stevenson close behind as well here
Style: Phil Casabon still, just crazy how beautiful he makes everything look
GOAT: Candide
Park GOAT: Henrik Harlaut
So many good skiers out there, but if I had to say best overall skier it's Eder, right now. I think it's easier to slay park and move to big mountain than the latter, so most GOAT skiers nowadays were park skiers growing up who then moved into the big mountain space. There are plenty who could do that too in the future, but Candide doing what he's done for so long is just unheard of.
Also Sammy Carlson has to be in the running for best skier of all time at this point too.

He has some of the wildest shots ever in the street, backcountry and park. On top of that he has a unique style and tricks that no one else has or has done. In both competitions and films he has been at the top of the pack like no one else has, especially during multiple super competitive eras of skiing. His longevity and experience in the game also contribute to the GOAT conversation.

I completely agree with everything that you said except I would put Sam Kuch over Ross for big mountain freestyle second place. But everything else imo is 100% spot on.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Someone who’s so versatile and absolutely murders it in every field. Saying goes something like if you’re good at many things you won’t be amazing at one single thing, well henrik is amazing at everything he does. Speaks volumes, truly.

Yeah actually I’m changing my answer because of that point you made. Dollo has been at the highest level since I was like 12 years old. He just won an Olympic medal this year. For 11 years he’s been amongst the most elite echelons of the sport, and doing it in such a unique way. Backcountry, street, park, he has it all, and is innovative on every front. Gotta be the goat honestly
