What happens at apres

Not as cool as Europe. The week I spent in Ischgl with a bunch of Poles on vacation was peak Apres.

Apres is what you make it, party with cool people it’ll be cool.

We have smoke shacks and party crews. No need for apres when you party all day

Completely depends on who you're with regardless of where you are. At Smokey Mountain in Labrador sometimes the lodge is empty at 6, sometimes people are riding an ironing board down the stairs and dancing on tables at 3 am before passing out on the floor.
The thing is though, if you're skiing hard all day and plan on doing the same the next day, apres has to be chill.

It’s important to define the difference between “apres” and “nightlife”

apres happens in the parking lot/lodge deck right after skiing while nightlife is external at bars/clubs in town

some mountains have great apres but no nightlife, some just the opposite…

Apres is what you make it, I go to the bar after skiing most weekends, it's usually just a handful of homies but on gaper day or closing day it's fkn wild.

brosasakibig resort dudes, what is apres like at American resorts? I feel like as a sport only one step down from golf in terms of old white man-ness there's gotta be no way apres-ski is actually cool and esoteric right? ratios have got to be literally negative

Frank day at Alta is a good apres

Going to the local ski bum dive bars and getting absolutely plastered is the extent of what I've done. Definitely the vibe in Europe sounds way cooler

Go to Whistler, party with locals.

Fucking animals.

Don't drink, can't afford apres even if I did.

Really Idk though. Never was big into it but when I got days off or had slept enough was getting out to the bar at the end of the ski day a bunch in the spring. Was pretty cool because one of the spots would fill up with employees for about an hour or 2. It was a nice short window to grab some drinks and see a bunch of people, plan the next days missions, or talk about the sick line you hit or your epic tomahawk off a cliff.

Working grave shift it's tough to be social, when I had the sleep and energy I tried to get out this spring. Was good for me. My skills on the mtn are pretty garbage at this point so I'm more likely to stop and have a few beer with some friends throughout the day or at the end than I used to be.

As far as old white man? Idk, I think it's pretty obviously reflective of the crowd at the mountain. Usually things I end up at are more dirtbag vibes. And if there's events going on it brings out all kinds of people.

Idk, kinda is what it is. If you're skiing hard af and want to go home send it. If you want to grabs some drinks and have some fun that's great too. Nobody cares if you hang out after the day or not. Not point in judging it imo. Especially on weird cliche ideas of what it might be.
