Rossignol Storms, one of the weirdest topsheets of the early 2010s. I loved them at the time, they got a lot of comments. One of my friends that doesn't ski often still rides my old pair.
My family was didn't have much so I got the Craigslist Special of skis + boots for $100, then I when I got a job I bought some Sean Pettitors, then Hellbents, then Vishnus, and it's been Vishnu ever since.
I had a pair of some old Rossignol kids skis for my very first pair but my first pair of big skis were some K2 comp skis similar to the ones pictured that are white with the blue K2(in the middle next to the red K2 ones). Should still have them in my dads garage.
My first twin tips were the Line Darksides(grey with the black Line logo) Still have them too but soon to go to a new home.
faction CT 1.0 2021, simply because I rented a pair of those a few years ago (2017 model) and I loved them, plus I had no idea what else to buy, I got into skiing mostly for freesyle stuff (pow day = snowboard day) so it seemed like a good choice, I bought them in april 2021, after the non season, then winter finally showed up and I was disapointed about how non-fun the ski was....
Then I remember trying some fat ass skis from a friend, coreupt sonar, 160cm long, 122mm wide, flat underfoot and big rockers front and back, super surfy and fun, completely powder exclusive, but fun, wide is fun.
So I said fuck it, let's buy more ski's and bought myself a pair of prodigy 3's, that I rode everyday this season, my true first pair of skis in a way, I can monster truck trough everything and have fun everywhere with 'em, park, pow, spring slush and even hardpack... absolute perfect ski for me ! ct 1.0's are collecting the dust...
These were my first real skis I actually wanted. I had no idea what I was doing at all. I had them center mounted even tho the furthest forward mount point was still like -2 or -3. Learned a lot on them before it was time for an upgrade
Fisher foam core something I don't remember their name. First real pair of skis were some well used Volkl racetigers.
First twin tips were On3p Jessie 88s that were way too short for me.
When i started at 14 I had some 174 k2 escape from the early 2000s. Pretty much a rental ski. I learned 180s/ switch 1s and a bunch of grabs on those. First pair of twintips was public enemies, the red black and white ones, which took me through learning rails and 360s/ switch 3s.
First good skis I owned were Rossignol S3's. Such a game changer for me at the time. As I got better, the durability just couldn't hold up to the abuse though

same for me, probably still my favorite ski, i still have them but they are 160s

First pair of skis that I bought and owned were these... Liberty morphic, got them used for super cheap on GearTrade. I also bought my Surface One Lifes around the same time but I don't quite remember which skis actually got ridden first, I'd guess the Morphics. They suffered a tragic death at the hands of an inattentive shop tech who ground the bases all the way to the wood core after I had done a major base repair patch due to a 2"x6" area of base material torn out on an early season Big Sky day. They got replaced (by the shop that fucked them up) with the Liberty Sequence, which I absolutely hated and only skied 3 times before selling.
First twintips I can remember were these I think? They were season rentals but I remember being so stoked to have twintips
First and only pair so far are a pair of armada arv 84’s from 2020. I got into skiing pretty late (20) and just got them on a whim with a shitty binding package that already doesn’t hold me in. Hopefully gonna upgrade to some Vishnu wets and either pivots or attacks this summer.
First twins and first skis that I bought with my own money (i.e. non-hand-me-downs) were Dynastar Concepts with some kickass cow spot bases, circa 2000. Yep, I'm old.
these are the first skis i ever rode, they got me down the 242 vert ft pretty well. shoutout my parents
this was my first park ski. the best skis i’ve ever ridden, got them for 50$ with look pivots on them in like 7/10 condition. It was the year I learned rail slides. Atomic makes (made?) some durable ass skis. those things had barely any edge left underfoot but not a single crack. tbf i was like an 100 pound 13 year old so if i was landing on rails hard enough to break them. I think i might still have a thread abt how my sidewalls were shredded so bad i would get fiberglass splinters all over my hands when i picked the skis up. anyways i think these skis were ahead of their time and really helped me get into park skiing.

Literally bulletproof, I’ve had them for 10-12 seasons and still bring them out a few days a season to rip on. Have some ancient Salomon’s mounted on them too. Love them
Didn’t start skiing until middle school and didn’t own anything until senior year of high school. For graduation my parents copped me a 178 black crows nocta that I still have to this day

Haha, Rossi 4M mogul skis back in the day of straight skis :-) They were the first pair I had that didn't delaminate from airtime and landings.... Dynastar Course had them silly tip bobbles that would fly off when you landed a decent sized airtime on firm snow, leaving a nice whole that resulted in delamination of the tips soon after....

not tryna necropost but I just bought some CT 1.0s. I’ve only rode same cheap directional skis for my first season. I’m on east coast so I wanted narrower. Did i screw up?

No width is personal taste unless you’re skiing deep pow.
