@Non_State_Actor said for boots, take him to your local shop and have him get fitted. bindings honestly don’t matter that much for what you need, you can probably find some attacks under retail that’ll work just fine. as far as skis, i think you need to take into account how much he’ll realistically be able to progress and pick a ski from there. my brother bought me a pair of mindbender 99ti’s like a month or two after i started and i’ve definitely grown into them, as far as fully utilizing them. i’m also 16 though, so learning things comes much quicker than someone who’s in their 50s or 60s. idk your dad but 60 also seems a bit late and a little risky to start trying things in the park, so i wouldn’t worry too much about finding a somewhat park capable ski, unless that’s something he’s genuinely into.
ill be honest, i don’t think i’m qualified to give any specific ski recommendations for him. i haven’t skied either, but i see plenty of dads on nordica enforcers and volkl mantras, if all else fails i doubt you could go wrong with either of those. the east coast also doesn’t get the type of pow the west coast does though, so i wouldn’t go over like a 95mm waist. really though, maybe just have him demo a few pairs and see what he likes.
