What is the point of producers putting their loud ass tags or random noises in the middle of the song? Like is it for licensing reasons?Listen to My Set by Tray Savage and Ballout. Every 15 seconds there’s like a producer tag or an annoying noise and it lowkey ruins the song

in contemporary music producers carry the music industry and barely receive credit for what they do. most of them have their own tag during the intros of songs so they can at least get some credit from a song that everyone will think the artist entirely wrote when that’s usually not the case.

If there wasn't a tag would you know who produced the song? Yeah it can sometimes be annoying but it's good for producers to get recognition. I also think it goes back to an older tradition in hip hop where it was the role of the Mc to shout out the dj who was then considered to be the main attraction. For instance, it's Eric B & Rakim, not Rakim & Eric B.
