BiffbarfDoes the noise change when you press the clutch in?
HaydenBNot that I can notice no
BiffbarfIs the glitter bronze or silver? Could be a bearing going out or your front diff is taking a shit. Is the noise the same nomatter the gear or does pitch change?
HaydenBSilver, pitch doesn’t change but I can really hear the whirring winding down as the car slows down. Haven’t thought about the diff yet but that’s a good point
BiffbarfMy guess would be something in the front diff, but the only way to know for sure is to crack it open
Disclaimer:not a subie expert by any means just guessing

HaydenBActually I just did some searching and the front diff fluid and transmission are shared, so getting my transmission flushed also flushed my front diff. I’ll keep looking though
BiffbarfThey are or aren't? Because yeah if your front diff is going out it'll glitter the trans oil. Does it whine when coasting in neutral?

skiermanIts a fucking Subaru. Set it on fire and get a real vehicle that doesn't break down every 200 kilometers.
oldmanskiIs it AWD? Had a 93 Impreza sedan that was AWD. It had mismatched tires on it and it ended up taking out the rear diff. Car ended up being front wheel only.
skiermankilometers.
HaydenBYep AWD, I do even happen to have mismatched tires front and back but they’re the same dimensions all around so I don’t think that’s affecting anything
