Advice/ recommended readings on how to make snow pants
Since the season is ending soon, I really want to take up making some of my own snow pants over the summer. Does anyone have any advice as to what I need to make my own (looking to make some baggy mfs). I have no experience sewing but am willing to put the time and effort into making a quality pair
Learning to sew is a ton of fun. Get some cheap fabric and practice first. I also recommend making a cardboard cut out of the shape then flip for the out seam. It seems obvious but seems take up space so account for that. Your first pair won't be great and the sizing may be a bit off but that part of the fun. Take your time and keep trying.
Practice, practice, practice. It will take a few try’s to get a shape that you’re happy with, so don’t get discouraged if it’s not going how you planned, you can only get better as you go on. Practice on cheaper fabrics at first and make stencils. Just tweak stuff here and there and you should be good. Also don’t cut corners, more time you spend making a good solid pair the longer they will last on snow. Good luck
