If you've got solid experience creating bad ass marketing, we could use your help spreading the word at J skis and would love for you to apply to this MARKETING & MEDIA COORDINATOR job. Here's the type of person we're looking for...

EXPERIENCE - 2+ years professional experience in a related job

IN-PERSON - Already live in, or ready to immediately relocate to Burlington, VT.

SCHOOL - You're a smart, hard worker proven by your college GPA of 3.5+ with a BS in a related topic (ex Marketing, Design, Communication, Media, Business, etc.

CREATIVE - You are constantly thinking up new and creative ideas and ways for our brand to stand out from the rest, as well continue engaging conversations with customers.

PROBLEM SOLVING - You are self motivated, persistent and fearless when it comes to efficiently solving problems on your own.

FAST - Hyper active + hyper focused = capable of keeping up with a small, extremely smart fast-paced team.

COMMUNICATE - This is a team effort! Have the guts and initiative to ask questions, make suggestions and continually have conversations related to what we're working on.

SKIER - Passionate, long-time skier with consumer perspective and understanding of our sport.

dans12Ahhh yes, the kind of arrogant job posting where a "qualified" applicant is judged on their past undergraduate GPA but also needs to be well removed enough from college to have significant professional experience. Realistic and professional job postings that emphasize the importance of professional experience do not nitpick about GPA, and vice versa. Beyond attaining your first entry level job out of college your undergraduate GPA is not really a selection criteria that follows your throughout your career.

eheathWhat wage do you think would be appropriate? Because 46-55k isn't unreasonable at all for a glorified social media manager with 2 years of experience while getting paid nothing, its not like you get experience for this job making 80k a year...

I wouldn't still be working here after 6 seasons if the work, company culture, pay, benefits and ability to learn wasn't all there... yet here we are. Couldn't ask for a better boss and am super excited to have a new coworker on the team to continue to grow this business.

Like dawg not saying it would be an awful job- especially if you want to get into the industry and make a career out of it. But lets be real:

1) if I had a nice GPA and years of experience I would not accept a position that can't even pay the national average.

2) If you are a passionate skier who really wants to work in the industry J skis will 100% take advantage of that and probably start you off at 46k. So now I'm making ~16% lower than the average person in my field and on top of that I'm living in a part of the country that costs 21% more to live in than average. So really what am I actually getting out of this aside from getting to say I work at J skis?


If I had to throw a number out there? ~65k. National Average + additional cost of living = about that.
