Perks of longer skis?

got a pair of ARV 86's last season that are a bit short for my size, on purpose. i sort of prefer shorter skis because i feel like i have more control over them, as there is less length and weight to maneuver. however i saw a ton of guys in the park rocking really long vishnus and other brands alike. is there any reason i should think of getting a longer pair of skis? or should i just stick to what is already comfortable for me.

Wets have way more rocker than your arv so they ski shorter

The main advantage is more stability while skiing fast and aggressively as well as landing tricks. It’s personal preference to an extent but skis should be somewhere between your shoulders and just over your head.

well if we’re talking core, andri ragettli is pretty core and he has short skis, they help you do triple 19s with ease

You will land less sketchy, be able to ski faster, pop higher, and ultimately, look better.

The way I always viewed it is longer skis generally handle the mountain better but take more muscle/weight to control, so you have to find the tradeoff that suits you best
