Spring vs Winter

What skiing do you enjoy more spring skiing, or skiing in like February? I love spring skiing but HATE the season ending.

Winter, obviously it’s not great for hucking yourself into new tricks, but I love a crisp landing they feel so good, I like clean lips that don’t get runout, and I like seeing all the trees covered in snow and stuff.

Spring is the best, at least in the west


Crowds and traffic die down
Snowpack is still close to peak
Some slushy warm days, some bonus spring pow days
Contagious alcohol-fueled energy on hill, especially for closing day
Days get longer and multi-sport days become possible

This can depend on a lot. Spring is way less crowded and skiing in a t-shirt is really nice. The only thing I like about the dead of winter is storm chasing for powder and I know someone mentioned it but the takeoffs and landings are really good. Also the feeling of walking into the bar after a long day to talk to some people and relax when its freezing all day is really enjoyable. I think if I skied day after day spring is for me tho. Either way all of spring is better then 0deg and ice on only man made snow in late December to mid January.

funny on the east coast ski days become shorter because resorts stop doing night skiing when its spring

this. skiing in january on the east coast sucks so much it's not even funny. It's dark and cold af, there are hordes of people from the cities, and there is little to no natural snow. It's the worst month of skiing by far. Shit doesn't even get remotely good until february.
