yungskiggaAs mentioned I got the revolt 95s. Im not sure its the best idea to get a 99 width as my second ski. I think it would be more value to get something wider. Thanks though.

yungskiggaHey man, can I ask a question regarding fauna and other similar ski companies. Aren't you guys concerned buying skis from such small companies? How do you know it has a good build quality / durability etc? Im new here but I feel like newschoolers overhype small ski brands that produce 1 to 4 skis lmao.

BradFiAusNzCoCaI know it’s not directed at me but I’ll jump in here too because I happened to see this.

Many of us own skis from the smaller brands and we discuss them. So, if build quality were bad, we would say. Quite a few smaller brand use more quality materials, such as 1.8mm base (thicker than average), etc. Also, we have reviews at our disposal from places we trust such as the roofbox review (on here), blister reviews (https://blisterreview.com/gear-reviews/2019-2020-fauna-pioneer), etc.

Also, the smaller brands are usually more accessible on websites such as NS or Instagram and they are usually doing something cool and unusual that we like. Our demographic is different from your average buyer so we have different needs.

I know you mentioned build quality but some companies press out of other factories and it could be argued that a smaller company has a higher quality control, as they push out less product and focus on each ski more during the process.

Lastly, it’s just more fun to support companies full of passionate skiers, as opposed to a corporation.

FaunaSkisOur skis are made in a factory in the Czech Republic that specialises in building "boutique-style" skis like ours with our wood veneer topsheet and as it's the EU, all the skis come with a 2-year factory warranty. We stand by our quality and its why we were keen to get them to trusted reviewers like Blister.
All of our materials like epoxy, glass, wood cores, veneers & sidewalls, edges and bases, come from quality European suppliers and as mentioned we've made the decision to get thicker bases and its the same with our edges as well on all our skis. So if you want to hit rails on your freeride skis one day, that's no problem (you might want to detune them underfoot a bit first)
If you've any issues with the skis I'm right there on the receiving end ready to try and help in NS messages, Insta DMs, email and even Whatsapp. No dealers, sales reps or corporate call centre to go through.

Chunder_KhatI actually have for sure experienced lower quality/finish smaller brands. Not enough of a difference to cause me not to buy, and buying USA made is a big part my decision, but I can say for sure there are clear quality differences in my experience.

BradFiAusNzCoCaQuick look at your profile tells me ON3P and edges out of the factory. I’m not trying to go to bat for smaller companies right now but edges and bases vary wildly out of any factory. I’ve had edge high from big manufacturers and local, boutique manufacturers alike. I prep and inspect all edges myself when I get new skis

Im looking to get a new pair of skis in the mid 100 waist width range. Here is some background info on me to help you figure out what I need / what Im looking for. Im 23 years old, 1.78 meters tall (5ft 10) and weigh 70kgs (155lbs). I started skiing this season after not having skied since I was 11 years old or something and I managed to get approximately 15 days of skiing. I believe I have had a good teacher (close friend of mine who has been skiing all his life) so to understand my ski level and help me pick a ski, here are some things about me:

- I believe I can carve decently
- I can do some mediocre shifties / safety grabs on park jumps and some mid af 180s on side hits.
- I can drop off some small but decently steep cliffs in backcountry
- I once managed to go 105 km/h in a straight line without dying.

Currently Im a skiing on a pair of Volkl Revolt 95s 172 cm height. After having skied for 15 days on these skis I realized these skis are a bit too narrow for my tastes and a bit too much for park skiing. Id like to get something in the mid 100 range so I can be fine in park n groomers but also go easily through powder which I realized is what I am mainly interested in after skiing this season. So here is a list of what I do / I would like to do:

- Backcountry > Park

- I like jibbing & buttering. (I suck at it but its something I would want to improve so Id like a ski that I can work on it)

- I wanna be able to charge / go ham in powder but as stated above, I also want the ski to be playful.

- I live in Greece where we mainly get slushy snow.

Skis I am currently looking at: Line SFBs, Faction Candides 2.0, Faction Prodigy 3.0, K2 Reckoner 102 or Mindbender 108.

Open to any suggestions except from USA skis cause thats gonna be too much to ship them to europe so unfortunately no j-skis or on3ps etc.

yungskiggaBruh, bents are probably reeeeally good but would it be your 2nd ski if you had a revolt 95 already? wouldn't you wanna have something wider?
