Jemsi don’t know shit about colorado buuuuut copper easily has the best park out of the group
Professor-ModeloIf I were you I’d definitely choose between copper/A basin/ aspen or keystone/breck/butte and just opt to get just one of the passes. Unless you have infinite bread and want to see it all. Coppers park stands alone, and A basin, crested, and the aspen resorts stand out to me as having the best terrain (excluding southwestern CO). Also another thing to keep in mind is aspen housing is DUMMY expensive (sometimes 2x as much as a place in frisco
Samp20Thanks man, we probably would stick to one area just for ease of getting round and price, sounds like Aspen might be a bit expensive, keystone/breck look quite close to each other, is the housing a bit cheaper here than aspen? And also how is the terrain at these and snow in December?

Samp20What’s up guys, my girlfriend and I are from New Zealand and are planning a trip to New York in December, during which time we were thinking of doing a week-long trip to do some skiing in Colorado. Just wondering if people have suggestions on where would be best for us to go? We would stay in one place and are choosing between Aspen, Breckenridge, keystone, copper, but open to other options as well. First off, from what i can gather, it is cheapest to fly to Denver and then shuttle to mountain, is this correct? Second, looking for suggestions on which are easiest/most affordable to get to from Denver, as well as where is best for not ridiculously expensive accomodation in the village, and also is snow alright in all of these places aiming for mid December? Will be first ever time skiing over there so please excuse the lack of knowledge. Any advice appreciated!
Professor-ModeloIf we’re going off the last 2 years, I wouldn’t bank on skiing any powder snow in December, but anything is possible . Keystone and breck are a bit less pricy than aspen but definitely not cheap by any means.
edaiWith your lead time you can easily find a hotel or airbnb in silverthorne, frisco, or dillon which puts you in the heart of Summit County. You'll be able to access Arapahoe Basin which will probably have the best snow in December and it might be cheap because it's early.
If it was me I would keep costs down as much as possible for this trip, it'll be awesome but nowhere near the amount of terrain open as you'd like. If you're cool riding up the lift and seeing terrain you can't ski because it's closed, then it'll still be a great trip. Crowds will probably be down because it's early but that's the only real upside. Wouldn't recommend keystone (flat, crowded, lots of jerries) in December and I can't really speak to breck (havent skied there a lot). Copper will have some park features set up but if you're wanting to explore coverage could be questionable.
Hope I didn't dissuade you just trying to give you realistic expectations.
druppin_jibsBreck is fun but sorta lame. Park is mid but fun. Copper park is better but idk how the big mountain experience is. I'm pretty sure that Breck is not top tier

That_One_DudeStay in Frisco/Silverthorne/Dillon in a hotel and take the free busses to Copper/Abasin. Abasin will be steeper and have bigger terrain but it will depend on snow and what is open.
Copper has a great park, but this year in early/mid December they only had their small parks up near the base area and Peace park wasn't setup yet. The Resolution and 3 bears areas at Copper are awesome but they likely won't be open. I skied Resolution right before Christmas but 3 bears didn't open until January.
