Replying to The Fate of Three Kings
Heard Vail/ Epic is closing down three kings in Park City to consolidate a new four pack lift to the top for the next season. Seems like they’re choosing to throw a large portion of a great legacy of a legendary park scene out the window to justify more tourism. I’m aware it probably won’t be as awful as it seems but it feels unnecessary to rip out such a legendary lift. With no more hot lapping, no more views of the homies ripping underneath you, and a sure swarm of tourists flocking to the new lift creating a worse off lift line, Vail seems to be ignorantly and purposely destroying a huge aspect of what made Park City so great for so many skiers & snowboarders alike. They’ve already wreaked havoc on Breck/ Keystone, hell I haven’t seen a single clip from Breck in a long long time. Also they’ve transformed PC in many ways as well. But why do they continue to try so blatantly to strip terrain parks of every last shred of dignity. I understand tourism is their focus, love it or hate it, but I truly feel with all the people buying season passes for park/ booking trips just to rip the park, that they will ultimately lose more than they gain. Especially after hearing the dissenting opinions of many saying they most likely won’t be buying an Epic pass if the lift is stripped. Anyway rant over, let me know your thoughts on the whole situation.
