I got to watch cal carson on the tele tear that shit up. Nothing was better than the live stream. Keep doin that.

I NEED the live stream as do my friends our home "mountain" is trollhougen and wild mountain. And it was awesome to have a competition at troll for an opportunity to be at steel city. There was hype at vallhalla months beforehand and people were sending more things and pushing themselves more than ever to get ready for master shreader. And it was great being able to watch.

weastcoatAs a springs local who pretty much lives there and rides 5 days a week, and someone who did the opens for shits, this was the most fun weekend I’ve ever had at springs. An atmosphere like no other. Im a bit younger but I can’t name a bigger, better railjam that’s ever happened, anywhere. Stoked to be apart of it, that battleship rail was a bitch to try to get in practice / opens. Features were very fitting for the skillset of skiers there.


also, I believe I told you this when I saw you Saturday night, but the springs community appreciates stuff like this on so many levels. Vail has our eyes on us, and for you to have an event like this to showcase the potential of the parks here and bring forth the community on the stage for vail is HUGE. I think them seeing the sheer volume of this event, whether that be heads there, or worldwide viewers on the livestream, shows em that they’d be dumb to do anything but invest more in the parks (something we all know they’re notorious for not doing). Right place right time kinda thing. You knocked it outta the park, thanks for doing this and thanks for the great weekend.

Livestream was sick, I think totally worth it. Rail selection had a lil bit of everything and it was neat to watch guys hit all of them to mix it up. People will call the rails weak if they're long and technical cause most folks arent gonna realize the skill that being laid down on em. One comp stomp > series. Cant wait for next year!

Live stream is incredibly hard to make happen and one of our biggest expenses. Do you love having it? or could you live without it?
I love the Live-scoring finals, but do you? Or wanna see more classic rail jam sessions where judging is done at the end?
Big features? or more long technical ones?
High paying rail jam or work to host more smaller ones all over? etc etc??

I just wanna say - Tom you’re embodying everything the sport of freeskiing needs and then some. You’re not only the boots on the ground keeping the stoke alive (quite literally), but you’re the perfect ambassador for our sport to the masses. The ethos of what you’re doing is absolutely right on line with the skiing we all know and love. And to come onto a Newschoolers forum to ask for feedback straight from the community means your head is in the perfect place. Thank you for being the biggest inspiration to all of us for so many years and continuing to be that inspiration now. We need you!!

I grew up at Springs. Skied 40-50 days a year through high school. It’s probably part of what made me who I am today. There’s still a pair of my K2 Recoils at the bottom of that pond next to the Spot from when I jumped in during meltdown one year and the water was too damn cold. Lol.

To have this event at my home mountain is an indescribable feeling. The biggest reason hosting an event like this at a place like 7 Springs is that it shows how accessible skiing, especially rail skiing, can be. Skiing is for all, not just the wealthy. If any changes that you make in the format of the event stay in line with that statement, then a rail jam like this will continue to be a huge success.

I enjoyed the Showdown and the 2 plankers podcast! Would be stoked to see T Wall at Eldora Mountain Rail Jam they hosted a fun low key one that same weekend and eldora has some good Woodward parks. Also if the Pretzel Man is looking for sponsors seems like Snyder's or Rold Gold would be a no brainer!
