Best parks in SLC for beginner/intermediate rails

Visiting Utah mid-April (aka the week right before most of the resorts close). My girlfriend is a beginner/intermediate park skier, hitting small and medium tubes and rails. Like where the rails aren’t super tall or hard to get on.




Which resorts are best for these types of features?

I found some YouTube videos of Brighton and Park City parks from earlier this season and it seems like they had promising features back in Jan/Feb of this year.

Do they start taking down more of the beginner/intermediate features as the season comes to an end? How are their parks are looking now?

Forreal though. Never even skied out there but I feel like pc and Woodward pc are your best bets. Seems like Brighton is pretty religious with their urban style lips which can be daunting to the beginners, I remember hating those when I was learning rails.


Not even sure if there’s a set “beginner park” that late in the year but there’s probably smaller shit scattered here and there through their medium/bigger parks.

As a fellow beginner park skier PC has the best rails. Brighton is a snowboarder mountain and even though I don't even mind urban on rails, they have almost zero assist on their ramps, they want you to ollie on from almost flat (sometimes completely flat no ramp). Plenty of skiers love their rails, but as someone not that confident in the park, I don't. Woodward is a similar story, they don't have a single ride on rail (unless you count boxes), everything is urban. PC seems more ski dominant and I like their rail setups especially in the smaller parks, little kings and pick axe and you can find the most number of ride on rails available.

I feel like it could be better to learn on "urban" lips anyway. Maybe I'm buyest though

Urban isn't my specific issue, my main issue is the ramps being short with no boost so that your tips will slam into the side of the rail if you don't have a good pop. I prefer to get onto rails from the side, but I also want a ramp that will put me on the rail even if I have a weak pop. Ride on rails can't ever have this issue.

Yeah I know what you mean, did you learn straddle or did you always hop from the side?

Honestly, work on your pop then. Having good pop will make skiing more fun and progression easier.

depends on the mountain some places in the east can't stop themselves from building massive fucking booters onto rails and I hate it
