Go to your local thrift/ebay/garage sale and find a cheap ass mini dv camcorder. Then get the required adapters/step up rings to put a cheap fisheye on the camera. Boom now you can break coffee table in style.

otherwise, these videos are really easy to recreate as they’re most likely just a hi8 or video 8 (more likely) which are cheap asf. my first 2 cams cost under $100 and both look similar to those vids. don’t use a filter for the love of god they just look cringe and unauthentic l.

Export your project put it back into your editing program, and repeat this until potato image looks good.

if you want to fabricate the look you'd probably start with a 4:3 project 640x480. Maybe color grade the footage to the shiddy yellow tint or cold af footage because people don't know how to properly white balance the cam. Then throw on some film grain from effects tab. Could even drop the fps in apple motion for a super retro look like 18fps.
IMO i'm way less likely to continue watching an edit that's shot in like 480p potato dad cam. Kinda a turn off. Feel like it's super difficult to make SD look good especially when dynamic range kinda blows on older camera
