What constitutes a ski being beat?

I’ve only had my ARV 86’s for one season but I’ve roughed them up a lot. Damn near every other day was spent on icy groomers or the park. The edges are pretty dull from rails and I’ve mutilated the top sheet just from general wear and such. Should I just wait for something like delamination/core shots/edge detachment to occur before I invest in new ones? These are my first pair of non-rentals so I don’t know what the limit is, as I plan on just riding these until they literally fall apart.

When they start to become more of a maintenance and high upkeep while out ripping around/liability. I've got some surface give'rs that I'll prolly end up ripping again next season before moving onto another ski, despite numerous edge cracks.

Cosmetic and dull edges isn't worth getting new skis. Major edge cracks or edges falling out or when the nose splits or stuff like that is normally when I get new skis. Epoxy goes along way but there are some things that can't be fixed. If you are constantly doing a lot of work to keep the skis running it is probably time to consider a new set up. Remember you can keep the bindings for your next set up it you want those bindings still!

Learn to tune and repair skis, you can work on the edges and sand down the corners of the topsheets or fill with epoxy if they're big chips. Invest in some West Systems G Flex Epoxy and some basic tuning tools, they pay for themselves in no time.

I ride the ski until I can't get down the hill anymore from the lack of edge

If I were you, I’d keep beating on these and maybe look into another all mountain ski where you don’t hit rails, I’d you’re deadest on investing in new skis

Have you given them a tune?
it’s surprising what a simple base grind and edge care can do
