Reckoner 102 Feedback and Sizing

I'm likely to pull the trigger on some Reckoner 102s, got a decent deal lined up.
I want a ski that is good primarily for messing about on-piste, carving, learning butters, hitting the park etc. I am a novice freestyle skier.
It doesn't need to charge high speeds/ plow through chop. I have a Sego Big Horn 106 187 for bigger days and it is legit. But, I don't want the Reckoner to be an absolute noodle that is going to feel squirrely at any speed if I do decide to take it on some steeper/ less easy terrain every now and then.
Basically, while the 177cm would be better for park and messing about, I'm wondering if it would let me down for other use cases, even if I dial it back.
At 5"10 185/190lbs should I go with the 184, or 177 given people's experiences?

I haven't been on the reckoner but you'll probably want the 184 if you want the most stability, I've heard they're rather soft.

Thanks for the thoughts! I think I'm leaning that way

seems like huge overlap in style of skis aside from the fact u don’t wanna take ur big horns in the park and fuck the edges up, understandable, but if ur new to park and are gunna be learning a lot of new things, i’d go with 177 personally. seems to me like any of the situations u want the 184 you’re just gunna be wishing you were on your big horns anyway

It's a fun ski and true to it's marketing statements. It's soft at the tips & tails while being the stiffest ski I've ever skied underfoot. Very fun, a bit chattery on high speeds but not noodly. Also tends to break quite easily underfoot on heavy park riding but since you're a beginner, I don't see that as a problem escalating on you. I'd personally go for the 184cm for your size but you might want to learn park stuff on a shorter ski.

Thanks for the info all. Seems I could go either way on the sizing.
I know it might seem like a bit of overlap but just want a ski for mellow groomer days with the gf and for hitting the park, and reviews make it seem like a good ski for that.

Id be wary of the Reckoner durability. I work on the mountain and after 5 weeks of light skiing during the work week (mostly just for travelling between lift shacks) and full weekends of skiing on the 102s, they were trashed. Super fun sticks though.

Im 5’9 175 and like the 177; nearly effortless peanut butter 180’s for me and I’m not good :). Not a charger though.
