Cameras similar to Sony vx2100

I have been looking for cameras for the past month now. I already made a thread about vintage cameras. Originally the GL2, was what I was thinking about buying. Then I saw the Sony vx1000, but thats way too expensive. Lastly, I saw the vx2000 and vx2100 which was a little bit cheaper. I also like the fact that the footage has decent quality, but still has older look to it. However, it's still expensive and semi-difficult to find one that works perfectly. My question would be, does anyone know any similar style cameras, but slightly cheaper?

As someone that grew up filming skating in the early 2000's this just brought me so much joy and it sucks that skateperception is gone.

The vx1000 w/ mk1 dominated my fuckin life.

The DVX was popular as shit when I stopped so maybe look into that? I have noooooo idea what their prices look like these days.

Maybe the trv900? i’m not sure how much they go for now but those look really damn close to the vx1000. You could find a vx2k /21 for under 300 if you look or wait patiently for something low price. GL2’s work fine, but they’re cheaper than the others for a reason. The mic is ass and it’s basically just a worse vx but that doesn’t mean it’s bad by any means. If you’re REALLY on a low budget you could cop a digital 8 sony handycam that uses hi 8 tapes but with much better quality than plain hi8. Although a downside for these digital 8 cameras is that hi8 tapes are pretty unreliable.

dvx aren’t very desirable today but i forgot to mention they’re cheap as fuck right now i just bought one for $250. they show up on ebay all the time under $300.

they're waaaay overpriced now, I got my 2k for $200 but lots of them go for up to 500 now. Vx1000's go for like 600-700ish for a nice one now.

@HaydenB has a very very beautiful HVX? It’s HD I think? But it still has that warm orangy vibe. Needless to say it’s very pleasing

It’s not technically hd but 720 60p looks just as good as any 1080 imo

Yep hvx now an hpx that i barely use because our season ends tomorrow. Street movie in the works though😮‍💨
