Nonadhesive climbing skins

The glue is a pain in the rear, and it seems somewhat unnecessary for layman’s purposes (can’t you just tighten it so it doesn’t move?)
do they make non adhesive ones? If I took the glue off some old ones, would they still work?

The glue is kind of essential if you ever tour sidehill, without it or when your glue fails your skins will just slip off to the side no matter how tight your tail clips are.
that said there are a few companies doing alternatives, theres a couple companies doing vacuum skins, gecko and I think one of the weird fisher plastic skins.
Contour does a skin with silicone glue that is super easy to peel apart and is cleanable.
havent used any of these out in the wild but theres some reviews online. For traditional glued skins pamoca skins seem to have the best glue in terms of not failing and being relatively easy to pull apart in my experience.

BCA's new hybrid adhesive is very easy to pull apart. I have a pair, which I have not used yet, but they seem to be working well for some of my friends.
Could be worth looking into
