Replying to Changes to Alert Settings?

Why am I getting alerted when someone simply posts a new thread now? I went to 'alert settings' to change it, and the option for 'receive an alert when someone posts a new thread in a forum you are watching' is combined with 'receive an alert when someone replies to your comment'. I would prefer to only be alerted when someone responds to me, and not when random threads are posted.

Any chance of getting these options separated? Thanks
