Marker duke pt 16 vs 12 differences

Hi all. I have a pair of duke 16s that are more binding than I need. I like the functionality of the binding but I din at 10 at the highest so I don't need the extra beef of the bindings. I was wondering if it would be possible to get a pair of duke pt 12s and do a "hot swap" of sorts, just trade out the alpine toe pieces and the heel unit without having to remove the bindings from my skis. Does anyone know if there are any differences that might stop me from pulling this off?
Appreciate any help, call me crazy if you want.

12's are lighter and have some different materials in different places from what I understand. Mounting holes should be the same but the heel pieces are also different which WILL probably be a difference in mounting. Also if you ride a 10, I would stick with the 16's. They're only marginally heavier and it really doesn't matter. What you don't want is to ride a din too close to the max din of your binding because the release becomes unpredictable or less predictable when the spring is close to maxed out which is unsafe. I currently have a set of duke PT 16's waiting to get mounted and I'm very hyped!
