It seemed like a lot of pros were rocking shorter skis in olympics. Back in my day, lol everyone in the big park rocked 180cm full camber no matter how tall you were. I'm considering dialing it back to 177

I believe that can be explained by the gym. That's why I said theoretically, as anyone can becoming stronger, or not train and not be very strong.
*I think the benefits of height come more at the grom/am level, when the shorter skiers generally progress quicker. By the time they're pro level or almost there, it matters less

LogiIt’s funny how a good amount of crazy good skiers like Jesper, T hall, Wallisch, and Henrik are all 5’9” and below
I feel like having a smaller profile just helps immensely in free skiing.
I’m not a doctor or anything but I would think being super talk makes it harder to build as much muscle because the fibers are simply longer.
Also from a physics standpoint if a force twists your knee from your foot there would be a greater force applied on your knee/ligaments cause longer lever arm.

for real bro. i was dumb and got some skis at the very end of last year. htey wer 2 inches taller then me when i got them, i used them for like 3 weeks till the end of the season. now this year i got new boots (somehow didnt have to remount bindings) and im 3 inches taller then my skis now, and i have to use them next year too. i wanna try to get new skis but i also have to get a new jacket and pants for next year so im stuck with riding little tiny skis L
I got skis for free size 180 but I usually ride 188+ with 100mm underfoot cause im 6 4. but I had to ski them and now im wayyy better at park. Its really kinda therapeutic riding them.

Dollo have had some knee issues. He said in an interview that he preffered landing switch since it doesn’t hurt as much (i think he got jumpers knee)
since wider and heavier skis are quite hard on your knees, i think it’s healthy for him to size down both in width and length.
I think at some point in their life, everyone should be force to ski a shorter ski because it helps with balance and landing correctly. But as you progress, it gets in the way with other stuff

im cool with that, i think andri could do all of his tricks on longer skis but kids doing 270 out of boxes think they can shit on some dude doing 1920s with skis that are 10cm shorter than they think it should be
lol ski length is just a way to make fun of skiers you already don’t like, there’s no way people actually hate andri just because his skis are short. Like are you gonna like him when he gets longer skis? And no it’s not an excuse, ski length is proportional. Do you really expect 5’2 dudes to ride 180s?

This is what makes Henrik the man, none of that shit makes a difference. He'll blade into foam pits, tell kids to wear helmets, and downsize skis to keep doing what he loves. Don't matter what they say.
